Restaurante La Nacional — Restaurant in Madrid

It was taking more than an hour to prepared our orders when there was not many customers (4 people before us). They didnt give extra discount for the delayed also the food itself wasnt that great. I have a kid and i recommended don't come with yours if you guys really hungry, you will starved without any snacks or bread coming to your table until you made complaints to the staff "how long does it takes? My daughter is waiting and its almost 10.30?". We came at 9.15 pm and got the food at 10.45 pm and they rushed us to eat 15 minutes only because they closing at 11 pm. For the food itself nothing special except over burn grilled chicken that cost me €26 for the anorexic baby chicken with a kilogram of potatoes. The starters artichokes has beautiful presentation but the taste from the streetfood was much better and more fresh also served at the same time with the main menu after an hour 15 minutes. Maybe is not happening with anyone, but I was not having good momment with this Nacional restaurant. Grilled chicken with potatoes, ox burger with fries, chicken fingers, and fried artichoke...

We had check-in in the Hotel closed here, and we had our dinner, it's a cozy restaurant but little cold inside. I came late after my friends are there first ordered their food before i arrive, we wonder if the waiter gave us different menu because we are foreigners?🙄 just offering the meat menu, the meat is good supposedly because it's quite expensive for a single plate, it's reasonable if the food came so long time like half an hour, it must be prepared and cooked well but it's not and didn't asked either how we would like our meat to be( and must remember if you order steak in Spain always say well done if you want your meat doesn't have blood or else your meat will keep coming back in the kitchen),. I'm sorry but this restaurant didn't meet our expectations.. but the place is so nice by the way!

Updates: [March 10, dinner time] Finally food some meal that makes me happy 😄 tried the chicken and it's tasty and good love the baby potatoes , so...

I was just there to get a drink and a tapa during a happy hour announced outside between 10:00 and 11:30 pm. First, one of the waiters says it starts at 10:30, even though the sign outside says 10:00. Ok, I then ask for a list of drinks (with prices included, of course) so I can review and decide. There is no such list, and after several attempts, another waiter comes and asks me what drink I want and then he'll tell me the price. According to him, I'm the only one that has ever asked for such information. I decided I didn't want to deal with this any longer and I just went back to my hotel without no tapas and no drinks at the place. Unless you don't mind not knowing in advance how much you're going to be charged for your orders, avoid La Nacional.

(Right after reading owner's response) Para dar ese tipo de respuesta tan falsa, mejor ni contesten. A los camareros no les importó por un segundo ser respetuosos, y acabaron siendo literalmente...
