"American BBQ" prepared like whoever made it has never eaten real American BBQ. They ran out of barbecue sauce when I was there...They. RAN. OUT. OF. BARBECUE. SAUCE. Enough said.
The meats were COLD. There was TOO MUCH SMOKE. I would say something about how the rubs intermingled with the sauce, but I couldn't identify the rubs and THERE WAS NO SAUCE.
There are 3 phases to BBQ sauce...the mop (half way through the cooking), the glaze (at the end), and the DIPPING Sauce (for the table). I didn't detect any of these in the meats I consumed.
If they want advice from someone who lives in the area from KANSAS CITY, whose hobby is REAL K.C. Barbecue, feel free to contact me.
The coleslaw was bland, but not bad. You must serve a wad of pickles on the side, not the thimble of pickles I was served only after asking for it.
Upon arrival, I said to the server that I was a real American and "here to put you to the test"...she ignored us for a good 15 minutes instead of understanding that this was a special customer who should be impressed.
Neither I nor my good friend and dining partner...
Read moreI’m from Texas and eat bbq frequently, especially brisket. I’ve had Franklin’s, Terry Black’s, Salk Lick, and Cooper’s—all amazing bbq joints that have fueled my love for bbq. (It is weird that bbq lovers seem to always share their credentials, but here we are, hahaha)
I’ve been in Seville for too long (is that possible?) and was desperate to find some solid bbq. I even went to Madrid in search of brisket last December (returned to Seville disappointed). I was never expecting to find Franklin’s in Spain, that would be unfair, but I needed some good bbq.
Lucky me, Los Parrilleros opened! This is more than a burger restaurant (how Google categorizes it), it’s a bbq restaurant with local palates and local ingredients in mind.
We had the brisket sandwich and one of their speciality burgers with smoked meat and brisket! Both were delicious. The brisket could have come from a Texas joint. The red sauce was also very good with the fries and burgers.
This is a perfect place for locals to try American style bbq or to satisfy a bbq craving. 10/10,...
