If you want quality Italian food then this is a must. We were staying in Santa Susanna and really fancied pasta. Most places we looked at served a few pasta dishes but none were pure Italian cuisine. We found Ciao Gio’s Italian restaurant online but was a 25 minute walk and it was so worth the travel!! We saw they serve real Italian pizza which implied that the pasta must be good. We arrived and both waitresses greeted us as well as the chefs saying hello - staff were great. It’s a small restaurant but we got to choose to sit inside or outside which was mostly covered. As soon as we sat down we had menus brought to us and the olives + wine came within a few minutes. We had a garlic pizza to start and both had a carbonara for main. This is proper carbonara with egg - no cream or milk in sight!!! The food was absolutely delicious and we had such a lovely meal. Unfortunately a thunderstorm began after we finished eating but the waitress let us move table twice to avoid being splashed, fantastic service all around. For 2 starters 2 mains and a bottle of wine it cost us €45 which is so well priced! Anyone wanting an Italian meal please do travel to this restaurant you won’t be...

We ordered the calzone Ruben and the pizza carbonara. Though the carbonara pizza was a litttle too eggy for our taste, I would say they were still Both delicious and we were stuffed. The calzone was stuffed with lots of cheese. If you like spicy, ask for chili oil. The chili oil is amazing and spicy!

The service was great, staff were really friendly.

The meal started with a small plate of complimentary olives!

Highly recommend...

Pizza exceeded my expectations and I'm a wood burning New York pizza guy ... All the dishes we had we're good. In the summertime wait or reserve ahead an outside table ...inside is small and warm. Ciao Gio...put it on the list. The staff are not so smiley but they warm up. Cheers.
