While visiting the town of Manzanares El Real, I stopped by Casa Goyo to replenish my energy after hiking through the beautiful natural and historical relics of the town. I very much enjoyed eating here. The menu Del Dia had good options and the restaurant owner and the waitress were kind enough to change my order and very patient with my request despite my limited spoken Spanish; eventually delivering great overall experience and service. Hence, I recommend this establishment for any traveler who makes it to the town.

A great restaurant in Manzanares. Found this treasure on our one day trip to the city. The owner is a very sweet man and feel free to ask him for the suggestions. The meatballs were delicious - I just couldn’t have enough of them. The beef tail was unique though. I recommend you to take the pisto con huevo - it’s almost like ratatouille. The entire menu cost us each just 15€. For the quantity and the taste, it was perfect! If you’re in a city for a day, this is the perfect place to eat lunch.

La comida estaba bien, pero la experiencia ha sido horrible. Por fuera tiene muy buena pinta, pero el servicio ha sido pésimo. Un menú de 22euros que no puedes compartir, porque te obligan a pedir un menú por persona. Había tres platos que no tenían, del menú y de la carta. Nos traen el primer plato, frío, han tenido que llevárselo y nos lo han traído recalentado de microondas (o son muy hábiles y han puesto las albóndigas y las patatas en exactamente la misma posición, incluso la que había partido). El segundo plato ha tardado más de media hora en salir, y ha salido porque nos hemos levantado a pedirlo, porque el camarero que nos estaba atendiendo ni siquiera se ha dado cuenta (muy desagradable, llamando "jambas" a sus compañeras junto con otro cliente). El pan estaba duro, como si fuera descongelado del día anterior. Nos han dicho que, por las molestias, nos invitaban a una coca cola, a pesar de que les hemos dicho que no era necesario. Luego se ha acercado la dueña, a pedirnos disculpas y a que le explicásemos lo que había sucedido. Ella nos dice que nos invita al plato de albóndigas, pero la realidad es que nos han cobrado todo. El camarero, delante de la dueña, muy cortés y amable, pero por detrás muy maleducado. La única persona que merece la pena es la chica que nos ha buscado la mesa, que se ha dado cuenta de que nuestros platos tardaban muchísimo y se ha acercado a preguntar. Espero que le vaya muy bien. Por lo demás, un cero a todo.

Lovely location but the bread was cheap, and there was no olive oil, salt or pepper with the meal.

Frustratingly they won't serve tap water with a meal and drinks. Apparently they are not allowed to serve tap water since COVID! Every other bar and restaurant that I have visited in Spain has been happy to serve tap water with drinks or a meal.

Overall a very average experience but priced above average. I will try elsewhere next time we are in Manzanares.

I have just read this.

Article 18.3 of the waste disposal law 7/2022 obliges all hotel and catering businesses to provide free tap water.

Frustrating. Best go elsewhere where if you like water...
