Merendero Cristina — Restaurant in Marbella

I recently dined at Merendero Cristina and had a delightful overall experience. The staff were exceptionally kind and accommodating, always responding to our requests with a smile and ensuring we felt well taken care of. The views from the restaurant were stunning, making it feel like you’re dining on a boat with a panoramic backdrop of the sea.

The service was fast, and the portions of the food were generous. We enjoyed the calamari, salads, and pil pil prawns, all of which were very good. However, the seafood paella fell short of expectations. While it was presented well, the dish lacked the vibrant flavors and seasoning one would hope for in a paella. It came across as a bit bland and could benefit from a more robust infusion of spices and seasoning to enhance its overall taste.

Excellent seafront restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. Without reservations we were lucky to have an inside table for 4 with a view. Menu is reasonable with mostly seafood selections. Totally enjoyable seafood salad that had lots of crisp fresh cucumber, melon, onions, fish, shrimp, polpo, and clams. It was large enough to share as appetizer. I loved the Monkfish ala plancha which was served over a bed of sliced potatoes, carrots and scallions in a perfect combination. Really enjoyed both dishes. Don’t miss the Caprese salad, a tower of fresh tomatoes and mozzarella. I tasted one of my table mates fish soup. Creamy texture with a pleasant fish taste and small pieces of fish. Very nice, large portion. Only issue with meal was that his main, Pulpo ala plancha arrived late after we asked where it was. My hotel is right next to it, anyway, I called the restaurant yesterday and try to make a reservation for 19:30, there was a guy picked up the phone, and replied, „I got only one table far back in the restaurant, want it or NOT?“, I said „please wait a sec and I ask my husband“. HE CUT MY CALLS right the way. I called back, and asked „Did you just cut my call ?!!!“ he said, „Want it Or NOT“. Before I replied he cut the calls again.

So my husband and I decided to walk over, and checked out how busy could it be, in order to hang up my calls TWO TIMES, on purpose, not accidentally.

It was so empty. The Outside only got 5 tables with customers and enough waiters. What is the reason to hang up calls from customer? I was using speaker phone, and my husband and friends were in shock about the man’s attitude and behaviour.

Very rude people. Like the other reviews said, NO service and forget about it, only the view.
