We eat here twice. The first time was with a family member who lives here. He was very complimentary about the place. I was very impressed with the decore and location. Simply stunning. Beautiful sunsets too. All the staff are dressed well and nicely turned out.
I wasn't overly impressed on the first visit. I had the spaghetti. Perhaps having lived in Italy I have high standards. It was definitely not a fresh sauce and there was ZERO... yes ZERO garnishing. Like not even a basil leaf.
So the second time, just now, I decided to try the salad. It would be easier to say what wasn't in it. So the avocado was nice. But there was sweet corn, salad leaves that had seen better days, white canned soggy asparagus 🤢 red/ green pepper that wasn't quite ripe and three slices of cucumber.
They had disposable sachets of olive oil and white vinegar 🤷🏽♀️ No balsamic vinegar and the oil was as thin and transparent as veg oil. As we know, the dressing is the make or break of a salad.
The others ordered spaghetti, it tasted microwaved and the sauce was dry and sparse. We had to ask for the side of french fries and the garlic bread as they didn't come. The fries were soggy and dripping in greece. They were under done and inedable. Had they come back to the table, AT ALL, to check how our meal was we'd have been able to tell them. But they basically dumped each plate and left. The garlic bread was also Saturated In greece. Inedable. Non of us finished ANY of the food.
The waitress came to clear the table. She didn't ask how everything was. So my mom mentioned the fries weren't good. NO apology. She just did a mouth shrug and took everything away.
There were about three / four members of staff faffing about looking like they were too important to be there, yet not really doing very much. I didn't see any of them going to the tables with a smile and asking how everything is. The service was simply disastrous.
The bill came to €56 NOT INCLUDING THE FRIES. Two waters, a small coke, two bowls of microwave pasta, a salad and garlic bread, ALL of which was prterrible. As my mother was leaving and walking out the door, the manager didn't even bother opening the door for her to leave more food he ask if everything was ok or say good night. RUDE.
We were polite and friendly despite our experience. We even left a tip. I can't help but think what Gordon Ramsay would say about this place. It's a total disgrace. I'd happy spend four times that if the service was excellent and food was fresh. What a shame the management don't seem to care about their reputation. They have such an opportunity to impress and do themselves proud. They only have themselves to blame. It literally doesn't take alot to turn a place around. I very very rarely leave bad reviews. I really wanted this place to be good. That's why I went back a second time.
We should have gone to Rual's Pizza Time down the road. FIVE of us ate pizza, four beers, three cokes, fries and mozzarella sticks for €55. The service is AMAZING, the food is AMAZING and Rual's momma Nelly, wraps us all up in blankets and puts the heat on for us.
Don't waste your time or money in Sinbad's. It's very...
Read moreWe had made a reservation for 8 people tonight. We come here often and are already familiar with the fact that you have to pay attention to the drinks that you order and not just receive part of them. There is a lot of miscommunication at this restaurant. We already knew that. But tonight it was scandalous what happened with the order of part of the food. Last week we had already experienced when ordering Paella - we ordered one pan Paella for 2 people and one pan for 3 people - that there was hardly any difference. So tonight we had taken into account to order 2 separate pans for 2 people each so it would be enough for 4 people. However, only one pan arrived that again hardly differed from the pan for 2 or 3 people that we had received last week. We spoke to the staff about this, that we had ordered 2 separate pans for 2 people each. That this was therefore not correct. One of the waitresses indicated that this pan was indeed for 2 people. After asking this several times, the staff did not return the question. We were under the impression that the second pan had not been passed on properly to the kitchen and that this would follow. When we spoke to the staff again after waiting for 10-15 minutes, they said that the pan would be for 4 people. You can say a lot, but to charge 80 euros for 1 pan of this small size, which hardly differed from the one for 2 or 3 people: scandalous! We found this unacceptable and because after a long wait no one came to solve this or at least have a conversation, we got up and went to the cash register and there was the manager who had taken our order. We spoke with him that our order of 2 pans Paella was not executed correctly. At least we expected customer friendliness and at least have a proper conversation with us. This man simply did not care and kept insisting that this was for 4 people. He even threatened to call the police if we did not pay! We naturally paid the bill. And we barely ate the 80 euro pan paella, because we thought it would be solved, which unfortunately was not the case. Unfortunately, an unpleasant evening with our friends we had invited. No return to...
Read moreThe positive first; The location is absolutely amazing, just next to the beach in Marbesa. There is a great parking space just next to the restaurant and beach which is why we come to the beach here often, as Cabopino is soverc in summer. One day we wanted to have a quick lunch at Sinbad and we went up and into a table that was free. The was no "Reserved" sign om the table. We sat for quite some time before a French Lewis Holmes lookalike came almost running and talked loudly to me in Spanish, sounded like yelling. He asked if we had made a reservation and we had not. So our bad and we apologised and left.
The next day we made a reservation. The same French guy booked us a table for 15:30. He was then polite but gave us the fakest smile ever.
When we came back at 15:30 the guy came up to us and asked if he could hell us. He was serious and not friendly and somehow had forgotten me. I told him I had made a reservation, but our table was not ready. He then arranged so that we got a really nice table next to the beach (which was the only nice thing this guy did to us that day)
We got our menu but it took forever before they came to take our order.
My entrecote, which I specifically ordered medium rare, was not medium rare. And it did not fill me up, I was still hungry when I left. My friend had a burger, which tasted ok, but nothing more.
We then had to wait for even a longer while before we could get our bill and pay.
When we left nobody said goodbye. They all had this arrogance which was just disgraceful.
Even though I make more in one month than that Frenchman makes in one year, and we were very desently dressed, he just treated us like nobodies.
We stayed polite the whole time but we will never come back to this place due to its bad food...
