La Cocotxa Restaurant — Restaurant in Mataró

I came across this restaurant by chance while visiting a shopping mall in Mataró. It was located along the street, and I decided to have lunch there after seeing people enjoying their paella on the terrace.

We ordered several tapas, but the real highlight of the meal was the croquettes. The crispy outside and creamy ham filling made them the best croquettes I’ve had in a long time.

The paella was also perfectly seasoned (not too salty)and the rice was cooked just right. Even though I was already full, I found myself scraping the bottom of the pan.

The other tapas we tried were also above average in flavor. If you ever get a chance to visit this place, I highly recommend trying the croquettes...

Tout d'abord je ne comprends comment se restaurateur peut avoir obtenu 4,5 note google, pour moi cela reste un mystère ! possiblement de faux avis payés pour attirer les malheureux touristes. Nous avons commandé pour commencer des calamars grillés à la plancha à 9€, deux malheureux calamars dans une grande assiette.bref le repas démarre plutôt mal. Ensuite nous avons pris une paella chacun, on nous a ramené un plat à paella à partager donc à deux, avec tenez vous bien 2 crevettes et 3 moules chacun pour 17.50€ la part, nous avons fait part de notre mécontentement et de suite le patron nous ressort des assiettes pour nous préparer autre chose, bizarre de sa part. Ensuite nous décidons de partir sans dessert ni café, et là au moment de payer, un client vient se mêler de notre conversation avec le patron et nous traite de sales français, même le patron était gêné de son comportement. Bref si vous souhaitez manger une bonne paella passé votre chemin vers une autre enseigne, celui-ci de mérite pas mieux qu'un 0.5, même le service était nul, les employés de comprennent rien à ce que nous leurs demandons, dans le lot une parle parfaitement le français. Addition 63€ pur un whisky, un calamars, deux crevettes et trois moules, deux cuillère de riz le tout servis dans assiettes à dessert, effectivement c'était...

Small restaurant with authentic kitchen and very nice service. Prices are very affordable. Several variations of Paella, also vegetarian, and offers for one person. Tasty! The cream of the espresso could have been better, but tasted good. The interior of the restaurant is not opulent. But that's what it is often in Spain and no indicator for the quality of the food.
