We were visiting the area for the first time these past two weeks and thus both relying on friends' recommendations and online reviews, we visited Connoisseur Indian Restaurant on our first night out. The expectations were there and we have to say, they were met above and beyond.
Good food, which could even be adapted to for example wishes in terms of spiciness; good, kind, social, welcoming and attentive staff and not just one, but all of you, always available to answer questions and both advising when asked about meal options ànd suggesting meals out of your own motivation; good atmosphere; nice and calm location; live music on Thursdays, where visiting children made drawings for your artist and his reaction of an encore, beautiful!
In the end, we enjoyed our meals with you 5 times and every time we had different dishes (personally I had 3 new dishes, amongst them the Pasanda), we had a blast and we always felt welcome and well looked after.
For us it was a treasure chest close to our stay, but we'll definitely come back and we'd even take the trip or a detour, should that be necessary.

The mint sauce for the poppadoms was somehow repelled by the poppadoms, it was like water off a ducks back, far to watery. The onion raitha that you get with the poppadoms also had a sort of gravy or sauce in it which defeats the purpose of having raw onions which are supposed to cut through the fat of the rich curry sauces, possibly could cover 1/4 of a poppadom so nowhere near enough - why do people skimp on the cheap things it just doesn't make any sense, it takes no cooking and should be given away by the pot not the teaspoon. The Jafrezi while tasting nice was like a runny gravy and so different to any other Jalfrezi I have ever had just not what I was expecting when I ordered it. I appreciate restaurants need to stand out to get noticed this stood out for all the wrong reasons. Would I go back? maybe in a year or two but no if you ask me...
Read moreI have been going to this restaurant for three years and at least twice per week. It is my favourite Indian restaurant on this coast of Mijas. My all time favourite dish is Lamb Jalfrezi and my wife's favourite is Chicken Tikka Masala. I have never had a disappointing meal in this restaurant. If you like Indian food you will like this restaurant. Another favourite dish of ours is the Tandoori Mixed Grill with a sauce of our choice. The staff here are all very friendly and welcoming, in fact they have become good friends of ours now. I can highly recommend this...
