Truly bizarre experience at a place we have visited many times in the past. My family (including 3 young children) were seated OUTSIDE at lunchtime (approx 1pm). At no point was any mention made that children are not welcome by the waitress who seated us.
We ordered multiple items on the food menu and multiple drinks. I emphasise this as it was not a small order. At one point while waiting for the food my daughter bumped her head on the broken corner of the glass table we were seated at. She cried for no more than 20-30 seconds.
With this, a waitress from inside came out to our table and essentially scolded us because she had a wine tasting group inside.
We paid our bill and queried with the waitress if this was a family friendly venue, to which she said “yes, but you shouldn’t have sat down when you knew there was a wine tasting group inside”. We asked why we were seated by them at all if they were concerned about young children, and they again repeated that they felt it was our responsibility to somehow know what the booking inside the venue was for, and we should not have sat down. At no point was any mention made to us before ordering our food that there was a wine tasting group inside, or that we were expected to sit in silence. We would happily have left before ordering food if that was the case.
We are not an inconsiderate family a who allow our children to scream or cry at restaurants, and will take them away when appropriate, as we did on occasions during this meal.
Based on the disrespect we encountered, I would advise any families to...
Read moreWe might try this place for a drink but as a vintners it has a very poor selection of reasonably priced wine. Nothing under 16 euros, a few bottles 18 - 28 euros and mostly much, much more. I was looking for some decent wine, perhaps a bit different to the supermarket, for a party and wanted to pay between 10- 15 a bottle. Even rich people of my acquaintance don't usually spend much more on party wines and I can only imagine that this wine-merchant caters for clientele who are more interested in how expensive the wine is, rather than the quality. I am used to 'enotecas' in southern Italy that provide a fabulous range of unusual grapes and varieties from 7 euros right up to 200 euros. I thought this was quite odd in a not particularly stylish little town in Malaga – are there lots of Russian oligarchs in Cala de Mijas? The shop assistant wasn't that interested as I was on a budget though I would have been ordering several crates. Maybe a good place to buy a special...
Read moreIts a shame I have to post this review as we have been here previously in the day and really enjoyed our visit. However, We came late last night for a drink before you closed. I was stunned at how rude you were, it was clear we were a burden to you!. If it was that late I would have prefered you say that you were not serving and you were about to close rather than be spoken to in the manner you did. We all get tired but really no excuse for your attitude, which shocked me as you have all been extremly polite on our previous visits. We ordered a drink and were rushed to finish it, you even came to the table with plastic cups!. Consequently we left without giving a tip and we will not be back. Really very...
