This is the best and most authentic Italian food on Gran Canaria. The prices are not outrageous like some of the places closer to the sea. It's worth the 8km drive up the Valley of Mogan. Lucone makes an excellent Carbonara with real boar's cheek (guanciiale) as wells with bacon (both are available), Guanciale is my favorite and most authentic. On the northern outskirts of Mogan, this unimpressive local Pizzeria delivered up some really excellent pizzas and pasta dishes.
The Italian chef and owner offered us homemade pear and Parmesan ravioli and apple strudel for desert. We tried them both and they were excellent.
The pizzas were equally good and quite sophisticated. The bottle of Primitivo from Puglia was superb.
