First of all, don't go here if you are after a quick meal. You should expect to be there for a couple of hours for a three course meal. It's a small team and you will be served by the owner who is a charming and gentle person.
Next up, the food is superb. It is based on top quality local ingredients cooked with sympathy for their character.
Once we had ordered we were presented with a small plate of sweet shrimps to go with our drinks.
The wine list is extensive starting at €10 and extending into the hundreds but with the majority hovering around the €30 mark. We chose a 2017 Rivera del Duero at €35 and it was excellent (I googled it and found it online at around the same price so a real bargain too)
To eat we started with some artisanal local bread with a garlicky Aioli followed by tempura cauliflower and courgette the latter with honey and the former with more Aioli.
For mains we went for fish. I had Turbot served with baby clams, mussels and more of those sweet shrimps, all served in a delicious seafood sauce. My partner had a simple grilled bream served with confit potatoes. Both dishes were perfectly executed.

Read moreMy friends and family have been going to El Sitio since it first opened and we have enjoyed the ambience and experienced excellent food and occasionally not so good food, however last night we ordered the large grilled prawns to share between four of us...along with other dishes, and found they were inedible because of sand content. Having informed the host he removed them and apologised but continued to charge us for half a portion, even though we had been unable to eat them.....not a response I would expect, even more so for regular clients. We paid without question but will not return....
