Restaurante Friends — Restaurant in Mont-roig del Camp

Friends bar is located in a beautiful position on the beach just north of Miami Plaja and a few metres from Mont roig camp site. I've been going here for years and always have a good experience. The staff are friendly and they accommodate kids without any fuss. The food is not traditional Spanish, there are ribs, burgers, shrimp pasta and steak etc. The menu is small in a good way and the items are all well tested and reliably good. However the prices are quite expensive for Spain so should be held to a higher standard, in this area they fall short. On the night we visited we had poorly seasoned food, bland sauce on the shrimp pasta, garlic chicken skewers didn't have a garlic flavour at all, I would expect more attention to detail for these prices. The restaurant itself has grown larger over the years and as it grows the character that made it successful appears to be diminishing. Despite this you will be hard pressed to find a better place for a romantic meal on this stretch of beach. I still cant visit the area without a visit to Friends and would reccomend it to Mont Roig campers as a great alternative to the camp...

If you are looking for great food by the beach this is the place. It is literally at the beach! A place we visit a couple of times every summer and never disappointed. Had a fantastic Sunday family lunch and as usually place was jam packed. For starters we tried all the 3 salads on the menu and all excellent and good sized. And as the mains the Friends classic, ribs. The are amazing and the meat just falls off the bones. If you like a smaller portion go for the tapas size as a main. It is still rather good sized. And as desserts the apple crumble with ice cream and mango solero both excellent. The menu is rather short but still very good. This helps the kitchen as despite place was packed the food serving is effective. Staff is very friendly and efficient. Book the table in advance and know that parking can be challenging as limited. I went here with my family when we stayed at the campsite nearby ( playa montroig). The location is really nice being right on the beach front with a nice view of the sea. They have a large terrace with protection from the wind. We ate a selection of dishes from the menu and I can say we all really enjoyed it. I had the salmon fillet with sauce verge. It consisted of a large perfectly cooked salmon fillet with green sauce along with deliciously crunchy french fries and green salad. We also had the rack of ribs which was also highly recommended. The prices may seem a little on the high side when you look at the menu, but everything is freshly prepared and tastes great so I think it is good value.
