Restaurante Kalbario — Restaurant in Mutriku

Ordered the mixed fried plate and a plate king prawns. Awful, the mixed fried starter was obviously out of a bag of frozen treats from mercadona, the prawns would have been nice, the waiter told us they were frozen before we ordered which is fine, what wasn't fine was when one was still raw in the middle, cold and raw. When I took it in, the whole attitude changed from friendly waiter to not so friendly, obviously used to complaints. They asked me if I wanted it cooked longer, as if it was done to customer preference. Something I have never come across with a prawn or seafood dish, nothing was amended on the final bill about this. Anyway, long and short of it is, if you go down into the village, in front of the church in the main plaza, there is a taverna with way better food and service. Don't waste your money on this place. One possible positive was that the whole fish plates looked good, but we were not willing to throw good money after bad and take a gamble at this point. Nos recomendaron el lugar y fue toda una experiencia gastronómica, pedimos Rape y rodaballo más setas y cocochas….y solo puedo decir que todos opinamos el mejor pescado que habíamos probado nunca, de 10. El servicio del camarero fue espectacular, bai….siempre atento, con detalles por un cumple, musica local para amenizar, las cocineras de 11 y de esos lugares que cuando pases cerca repetirás sin duda. Eskerrikasko de corazón por hacernos disfrutar asi de esa velada. Sin olvidarse del lugar donde está ubicado con excepcionales vistas, zona techada fuera por si llueve para los peques y zona muy tranquila. Volveremos sin duda en cuanto podamos.
