Restaurante Xexo mexicano Asiático — Restaurant in Níjar

We've visited this place now several times since it opened. They have now stopped doing tapas sized dishes (which is a pity) so now it's raciones sized dishes only. Clearly inspired by StreetXo in Madrid, we love the modern style and interior something that was missing in San José previously. Service is excellent, you can order on your phone if you like. The truffle burger is superb, one of the best we've had in a while. Some of the other dishes don't work as well. The new Gallo Pedro has too many elements, putting sweet flavours with fish is just plain wrong. We feel they need to pair some of the crazier ideas back and keep it simpler! Tucked down a side street, this funky friendly mexican was a nice find for lunch. We didn't want a big meal and opted to share the offer of pork cheek burrito with nachos and a side order of gyoza. The young guy was really friendly and helpful. Giving us advice about the food and how to order directly from the menu to the kitchen, but was also happy to put the order in himself for us. These guys have got it right. My third visit in a week did not disappoint.

The tapa is imaginative, tasty and so fresh. They take some inspiration from South East Asia and South America as well as celebrating local cuisine.

Service is friendly and efficient; and their app is just brilliant.

Always a lovely atmosphere and I feel very comfortable here as a female solo traveller.

Alcohol free beer (tostada) and gin are available which for me personally is a bonus.
