Well, let’s start saying that in San Jose there are not many places to eat and this is in the Main Street so it’s in a strategic place. But prices are really HIGH for the food quality and even if the workers are quite nice. (One piece of cake 5,90). They “offered” a juice at the beginning and it was obviously not free but 3€ and they should clarify that I think, then they brought more than we asked Then we asked some things and they completely forgot. We asked for a chocolate cake (obviously intending that one in the showcase) they brought the one of the day before because it wasn’t the same cake. Then hygiene it’s something to forget because they brought us the entire jar of Nutella (something that I honestly appreciate but…) and we had spoons and knife to put it on the croissant, the nutella was cold and difficult to spread and we don’t know who used before so maybe some children used the spoon, licked it and put again in the jar. If it was not the only place open on Sunday morning I would have never gone and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Maybe for lunch it’s better but for me that prices (even if you are in a touristic place) are too for the food they have. Croissant was good but 2.90 for one it’s a little...
Read moreWe had lunch, it wasn't very busy, but there were people having lunch, it had fans inside and water spraying from the wall inside into the restaurant to keep you cool.
I had a tuna pizza with olives, my partner had carbonara and his son had Spaghetti 🍝 Bolognese. All meals were very nice, the pizzas are a good size. I took some of the pizza home. I was told the carbonara was excellent, just the right amount for a lunch time meal.
We have eaten here three times during our holiday in San Jose, Almeria.
I had the carbonara, it was nice. We went back and fillet steak with mushrooms. Also very nice. It doesn't come with fries or potatoes. You'll have to order these as extras.
The decor is nicely done with nautical items on the tables. They have swing couches outside, which look relaxing, but it was too hot to sit in it when we went.
Service was good, the food came together within minutes of each other. They spoke some English and we spoke some Spanish to get by reading the menu and to order.
Will give 5⭐, nice food, service was good and the translation either side was accomodating.
2025 review - no change to service or food here....

This wasn’t our first time here. The food is ok, nothing spectacular. It’s just another Italian restaurant.
The service? An absolute disgrace!
We arrived at 2 PM, having made a reservation beforehand. We had lunch and at 3 PM, barely having finished our plate, we were told (not even asked politely) by an extremely rude waiter to leave because “our table was now for someone else”. The coincidentally also rude customers who were waiting were initially just staring at us from the curbside, but subsequently started shouting “get out, leave, that table is ours!”. Neither a waiter, neither the manager handled the situation. It caused a scene. Disgraceful.
I would rate negative stars if possible. Every single review here about unprofessional, plain dumb waiters not having a clue of what they’re doing is spot on. Not to mention the total lack of respect for customers by the manager.
This place better learn how to deal with reservations. Sadly, judging by other reviews, they don’t seem to care.
Avoid this place by miles. Plenty of other restaurants in San José with better ratings and...
