Cafe - Bar Naxara — Restaurant in Nájera

I’m a pilgrim on the Camino and was looking to have a glass of wine before dinner. There were a few people on the patio and it looked like there was service. I sat down, made eye contact with one of the servers and they went inside and were talking to each other in the door. I waited a little over five minutes and went to leave.

Then, later I was looking for somewhere with food for dinner, and it was between this place or somewhere a little farther than I wanted to walk. Once again, I sat down, and watched them serve other people, so I knew there was service outside. I waited for almost 10 minutes and once again watched them go inside and talk with each other. Now, I’m no stranger to the way restaurants work in Spain, and I am very very patient, but it was to the point that other people on the patio noticed that I had been sitting there a while with no service. I then got up and left. I went down the street, and while I was eating one of the customers from the other patio saw me and told me to “enjoy my meal” because he had seen the lack of service I got. I wasn’t going to write a review, but because it happened TWICE, and I watched the owner (I think) tell his server to attend to me, and they still didn’t… I felt it...

Camino stop as desperate for food on a Sat evening when nothing else was open serving food in town until 8pm. A limited menu and decided to play safe with pizza. Unfortunately one of the worst I have eaten. Appeared to be a supermarket pizza placed in a grill and overcooked. The waitress was pleasant but other staff not great. Service slow and other dishes served to tables close by looked poor. Tables and toilets dirty Only positive was red wine was Eur1.20 but it was watery. Avoid unless you are really...

I ordered a bolognese, but was served a pasta with fish and seafood - which I'm allergic to. Apperently they ran out of bolognese, even though there was no other customers since I ordered. I could swap dish with my friend and then ate the carbonara, which was no good; not creamy by egg yolks, no black pepper and the ham was below average standard.
