Bar Deportivo — Restaurant in Navarrete

I went there with 2 friends on our way to Santiago de compostella. We ordered 3 small bottles of sparkling water, one tiramisu and one cheese cake and we got charged 21.50 €. I feel very disappointed by everything but mostly by how much of a rip-off it was. The staff didn't pay attention tp us so we went and ordered at the bar. We didn't feel very welcome at all. They didn't give us a ticket either. I love Spain and spanish people but i dislike being taken for a fool and ripped off like that. Very disappointed by this place. My advice, ask for the prices before you order anything. I didn't want to write any review at first but i really hated the whole experience. There's nothing worse than being ripped off because you're a foreigner and in our cases, pilgrims walking...

Excellent food. Great local wines. Good value. What more could you want. Owners Begoña from the Basque Country and Antonio from Turin in Italy are real characters. Take whatever Begoña recommends. You won’t regret it. Beans with clams, cow tongue, meat balls, artichokes, garlic soup, mushrooms, cod, pizzas, tiramisu, tarta de Santiago. We had it all. Everything home made and full of flavor. The five of us arrived at 18.00 for a snack, stayed for dinner and left at 22.00... If you speak Spanish you will be treated to some...

This restaurant was one of the most wonderful dining experiences I have had in many years. I am on my 9th day of the Camino de Santiago, and I stopped in for an evening meal without any expectations... WOW! The garlic soup and tiramisu were absolutely incredible (apparently both are family recipes), and the atmosphere in this small restaurant was so lovely and relaxing that I didn’t want to leave all night. If (and when) I do the Camino next, I would stop in Navarrete just to dine at this...
