From the moment we arrived and pulled into the ample and free client parking area we felt at home. A friendly greeting was waiting for us in the form of Alix the co-owner, who has followed all the Covid health and safety regulations down to the letter, without losing the charm of this gem of a boutique hotel. We were shown to our room and were very happy to see a lovely private terrace with breathtaking sea and mountain views. All the rooms are East facing so get the sunrise and early sunshine until after lunch. The bed was very comfy and there is ample wardrobe space. There is a fridge in the room with cold water and milk. A large fast boiling kettle on a tray as well as mugs, complimentary coffee and tea. ||The shower room bathroom was spacious and modern and very clean with a small tilt window. The hairdryer worked very well. Double patio doors to the terrace. They even have English TV channels which was a nice surprise. Two comfy chairs and a desk. ||Number 5 is a great room. We tried them all during our week’s stay and each option was served with freshly squeezed orange juice, delicious coffee and toasted white or brown bread which is baked each day at the hotel. We can’t...

He was puzzled as it was a new aircon. He called the owner and, given the late hour, they provided a fan instead. We didn't have a good night's sleep - the fan was noisy and it was warm. The next morning the owner was nonchalant and offered no apology. She said that they should not have given the room to us as it was not ready. I explained that her husband had authorized it. She then added that it takes 45 minutes to run the aircon before it turns on to cool. She was unapologetic, offered no discount, and displayed a complete disregard to us as paying guests. What a shame! The staff is lovely but the owner lacks hospitality. We...

Inside the cosy bar and dining area was welcoming with its lit fire, ( it was a chilly few days in early March).|Breakfast was fabulous, all cooked to order, and it looked as good as it tasted, even home baked bread.|The Avalon isn’t a bland, modern spa/ pool place to stay, nor does it claim to be……it is instead a place that offers a more traditional option, a place with HEART.|Try too, if you’re able, to eat dinner here at least once, it was one of our favorite places to eat over our 3 week tour in Spain.
