Xamonaría Serrano — Restaurant in Nigrán

My wife and I had wonderful time here. We are walking the Camino, and researched where to eat on our only night in Praia Amera. We toured a few restaurants, after walking into town and this place looked worth a try. So pleased we did. We walked in at 7.45 and had the pick of inside or outside. Our Spanish isn't great but we managed to communicate enough to get some fantastic food and wine. TIP: get here early as it was a Tuesday night and we could see a queue forming from 8.30ish. It was very popular with the locals, always a great sign. We ordered their most popular dishes according to our waiter. The hot meat and cheese sandwich and the meatballs, we also added both a pate and mixed cheese boards, with bread. All deliciously washed down with their house wine. So good we ended up having 3 glasses each. Try this place I'm confident you won't regret it. The bill came to just over 50€ which thought...

Llevo viniendo aquí más de 10 años. La atención siempre es excelente, sueles hacer cola pero organizan muy bien las mesas y nunca tienes que esperar más de 30 min si vas con un grupo grande. Los productos muy buenos a un precio bastante razonable, pero este año han subido considerablemente los precios (era raro que no se hubiese subido antes) pero mi sorpresa es que las raciones son más pequeñas (con los bocadillos nos dimos cuenta). Esto ha hecho que sus precios no sean tan competitivos como antes, ahora para nosotros es un sitio más de la zona, en el que te clavan más de 20 euros por cabeza.

EDITO: He dado una segunda oportunidad, ya que no me encajaba que hubiesen subido los precios a la vez que bajaban la cantidad de comida en los platos. La otra vez que fui, el tamaño de los bocadillos era ridículo y quedé con hambre, además de pagar 5 euros por bocadillo cuando hace unos meses eran más grandes y por 3.50. Esta nueva vez el tamaño de los bocadillos fue el de siempre, la calidad muy buena, el servicio encantador como siempre... Definitivamente debió ser algo puntual, aunque hayan subido precios sigue siendo razonable y en mi caso salgo satisfecha con la calidad-precio, seguiremos yendo...

All the perfect elements of a Spanish eating experience. Don't expect to find a table immediately. ..it's busy because it's good! So get a drink at bar and your name will be called for a table. Great wine list at good price. Work your way through the Jamon selection, including the Marcon. The tomato, goats cheese and tuna salad is a winner for the non meat eaters too.....
