Gusto Italiano — Restaurant in Orba

This week, my wife and I visited this restaurant for dinner, together with our daughter. We have eaten here twice previously, and it was a pleasant enough experience on both occasions. This time was a disaster and €130 not well spent. The waiter got 2 of the 3 drinks ordered wrong, my daughters starter of beef carrpaccio was tastless and my wife's tuna carpaccio was a sloppy mess, served on rocket and not basil leaf as per the menu. The mains were even worse, I'm sorry to say. I was served raw longastines, 3 of the 4 with my seafood spaghetti, no sauce, but just swimming in oil. My daughters pizza was a sloppy mess, especially in the middle, and only a third of it edible. My wife's fillet steak was cold and sitting in a puddle of blood. All 3 dishes should have gone back as there were some serious culinary rules broken, but for reasons I won't go into we made our observations before paying the bill and leaving. Just before we started our mains the waiter did as if all was OK which at that time the food did look palatable, we didn't see him again until we had fiished, the waiter apologised and said he would tell the chef, we had no further discussion except paying the bill. Well, I have had to wait a while to visit here and have heard mixed reviews. Now I know the truth which I suspected. 😀😀

It’s a brilliant proper Italian restaurant with a lovely location, amazing staff and a fabulous choice of properly cooked Italian foods.

We didn’t try the pastas or pizzas, but I’m sure they will be proper Italian, and I’m looking forward to trying them.

Any bad reviews about service can be dismissed now, they have now some brilliant attentive and knowledgeable staff.

If you don’t like great Italian Food, then maybe stay away! 😀

This place is really Well worth a visit with a choice of plenty of inside and outside space. Good value too.

And the best service, which makes a pleasant change!

Resumen, tener que devolver una pizza 3 veces. La primera porque el restaurante tiene subcategorias de pizza y en dos subcategorias diferentes hay una pizza con el mismo nombre pero claro, son distintas. Al recalcar la subcategoria (fornarina) y transmitirlo el servicio correctamente a cocina, me traen otra pizza esta vez de la subcategoria fornarina pero que sigue sin ser la bufalina que he pedido, primer instinto… donde esta el jamon? Asi que pues se la llevan y me devuelven la misma pizza con jamon. Al querer volver a devolverla les digo que como se atreven a traerme la misma pizza con jamon frio por encima si la base no es la de la pizza fornarina bufalina, que desde el minuto 1 es lo que había pedido. Al final cuando todos los otros comensales han terminado me traen por fin la pizza que habia pediddo acompañada del cocinero/pizzero dándome lecciones de su carta, de hacer pizzas y dándome una palmadita en el hombro que sobraba y mucho cuando sólo hay que ver bien la carta para comprobar que tengo razón. Menos mal que almenos la pizza me salio gratis aunque con gusto hubiera preferido pagarla y ahorrarme esta penosa experiencia.

Edit: solo hace falta ver la respuesta inútil del dueño y el resto de respuestas en las que muestra que no sabe comunicarse. Patético. No perdáis el tiempo en reclamar al dueño porque aún haréis vuestra experiencia peor. MALEDUCADO e IRRESPETUOSO. Almenos he conseguido que actualices y arregles la carta, CROMAGNON!

Edit 2: Señor antes de recomendar a nadie que aprenda a escribir aprenda usted que no sabe ni escribir el idioma ni tiene la mínima decencia de pasarlo por el traductor para que le arregle lo que escribe. Tenga un poco más de humildad y reconozca que su carta estaba mal y por algo ha decidido usted reacondicionar la carta y eliminar 2 pizzas de la subsección fornarina que contaba con 4 pizzas y ahora cuenta con 2. Pobre de su servicio que tiene que aguantar su incompetenciay dar la cara por usted. Admita que su respuesta solo justifica 1 devolución y no las 2 que le siguieron... se queda usted corto y la verdad, yo si que me río en su cara, en la que se le quedó por...
