El Torico 2 — Restaurant in Orpesa / Oropesa del Mar

Food was regular, nothing special and nothing bad but the waiter was terrible! I don’t think that I have ever experienced so arogant service. We booked a table for 6 but there were only 5 plates and glasses. Drinks were already served and I still had no glass. 3 times I asked and finally just got up and took it myself from another free table. The wind was so strong that lettuce was flying off rhe plate (really!). So we kindly asked the waiter to lower protective courtain. He had problems and repeated few times why we did not say it before?! If we know that the food will fly from the plates we would go inside! I don’t know how many times we tried to call him to get another bottle of wine but the best was at the end, when we tried to get the bill. When I finally managed to call him, he turned to me annoyed „what do you want!”! „Que quieres”!! We were really about to get up and leave without paying. I really don’t remember In my life a situation when a waiter yelled to me „what do you want”! Well, dear waiter, you can relax now, because I will never again bother you with my visit in this restaurant....

Very good food, very good service. we were treated very well and all of our wishes got accostumed to. the portions were very big and even though we were very hungry and loved the food we couldn't finish all of it. we ordered a big assortiment of different tapas, wine, drinks, a hamburger, seafood and a big pan of paellia that was very delicious and i would recommend to everyone. (i saw some reviews being negative about the rice having a little bit and being salty even though this is traditionally how it is supposed to be. so dont be fooled, some of the reviewers seem to be unfamiliar with traditional spanish food and should not be trusted, this is how it's supposed to be) and the prices were also totally within reason and we were eager for a tip.

the only thing that may not be for everyone is that one of us saw that one of the waiters smoking a cigarette in the kitchen. mind you it was after the last food went out and the restaurant was about to close down. so for us this was not a problem at all but its still a thing somebody understandably could have a problem with and maybe could be...

Local en primera linea de playa, buena brisa y buenas vistas pero ya esta. La comida pauperrima, sin sabor, lineal, encefalograma plano, pocas ideas, decepcionante y deseperante, obviamente no volveré porque la calidad-precio es un abuso teniendo que aguantar a un camarero sin ganas y unos precios desorbitados para la calidad de los platos. Menu de 20€ con primera bebida, cafe y postre incluido, ya suena bien para ser sábado a mediodia enfrente del mar y si lees el menu te emocionas pensando que vas a comer de lujo pero....ni por asomo. De primero unas almejas, que no lo son, encima son de esas congeladas con la cascara blanca e insulsas acompañadas de una salsa espesita sin mucho sentido que trataba de emular una salsa marinera, a mi mujer unos mini langostinos congelados sin ningun sabornpor maltrato del producto al descongelarlo, como aguados. De principal un entrecote que estaba en su punto de coccion pero sabia a pasado, por lo menos no me ha sentado mal y de postre lo mejor fue el melón, el resto eran tartas prefabricadas, bolas de helado o flan. Para terminar, como apunte, para la niña no tenian ni un helado de esos de Kalisse, frigo, etc... solo tenian 2 tipos de bolas de helado y nos dicen que nos fuesemos a comprarle uno al bar de al lado, lamentable. Esta vez no he hecho ni fotos de los platos porque no me entraban por las retinas, todos los platos iban decorados con un picante alrededor del plato sin ningun sentido pero para gustos...
