Tapa Negra — Restaurant in Ourense

All the food we tried was too salty with overpowering flavours that didn't combine well with the principal ingredient. The diced pork with cheddar cheese and nachos doesn't work with such a powerful, salty sauce combination. The grilled octopus was overpowered by sauce too. The tomato basil risotto was good but arrived so late we already paid for everything and were leaving but at least we did enjoy it for dinner. Service is slow and the dishes ordered don't all arrive in a timely fashion. So if you want a quick tapa it's best to stick to a bao than select from the extensive menu.

The location and outdoor dinning area are fantastic but there's much that needs improvement so they can show off the prime ingredients better. I don't get any wow factor here so will not...

Terrible service. Waitress had a couple groups waiting for someone to come to them for a crazy long time. The real problem was that she was seeing them in front of the tables/door waiting and they were being ignored by her cause there is no way she didn’t see them. They were in front of her!!! Then instead of saying hello and give them a proper greeting she would say “tables are all reserved, you can sit only until 8:30 pm. Then the clients that had already a table she had them abandoned and avoided eye contact with them. She didn’t check on them to see if they needed anything. And more than one table needed a refill. You guys are losing money and This girl needs...

It's a lovely place. You can sit outside between small trees or inside. We've been inside as it was raining (as it does so often here ;) The food was great. I loved the Salmon, but the size was a bit on the smaller side, but I kind of expected it.

The only thing I've noticed, is that the waiter isn't keen on getting the check. Happened to us twice now. You sit there, tell them you want to pay and they let you sit for 5-10min - and it wasn't busy both times. Maybe just bad luck.

Ah one thing. The Sangria was super weird. Tasted strange, don't order one.
