Okay, so you're in Palma airport, gates C, and you fancy a burger. If you're on a tight budget with two kids who are ardent fans of Happy Meals toys, that's fine, head for Macdonald's. Otherwise, just across the way you'll find Beer Code Kitchen and Bar, which will cost you more undoubtedly, but there's a world of difference. These are burgers for grownups, chunky, tasty and amazingly, what arrives looks like the picture on the tin. Real lettuce, not pieces of shrapnel from an iceberg, and it's served with good, crispy fries, decent quantity of ketchup and mayo (in low plastic paper sachets, nice semi-eco touch) and presented on a real plate with a real knife and fork! So you don't have to grab your food with airport contaminated hands off a rebellious, unfolding wrapper of greaseproof paper. Yes, you caught it, it's table service on your order, so you don't need to worry about your laptop bag slipping from your shoulder to your elbow, spilling the contents of a plastic tray all over the floor. The service is courteous and quick (caveat - my experience was at lunchtime in mid April, not peak summer rush). The chairs are comfortable, ambience as pleasant as you get outside the VIP lounge in an airport, and there's even a socket at each table if you need to charge something. Talking of charging, well it'll cost you twenty and something Euros with a beverage, but then, it IS an airport after all. If you're a frequent flyer, you probably on expenses and/or a moderately big earner, and if not, and just on you hols, well what the hell! You only live once. In short,...

After been shouted at, but the stricktest looking waitress, who Could have been a lead in a horror movie, We had the pleasure to Pay 55 euros for 3 warm sodas and the driest food served in the western World. I think the patty in my burger were made 3 days in advance and just preheated. Had I chopped the burger up, I Could have sandblasted a bicycle with the Bits.
No service, bad food. They make McDonalds look like a Michellin starred restaurant. Never coming back, if we...
Read moreI ordered the Caesar salad listed on the menu for €13, which clearly included chicken strips. However, when the bill came, I was charged €16. Apparently, they treat chicken as a €3 “extra add-on,” despite it being part of the menu description. When I pointed this out, the staff only offered a quiet “sorry for the wrong menu” and suggested I could take the chicken-free version instead. By then I was too tired and hungry to go elsewhere, so I accepted the price.
The food itself tasted good, but the misleading pricing and lack of transparency left a...
