You wouldn’t guess a restaurant like this could hide in a narrow side street of Petra. Only a little wooden plate hanging above the door is showing, that through the little doors is opening a world of culinaric dreams down a stairway (… to heaven?). We went in and were immediately amazed by the authentic arrangement inside. All the dark winding wood, the architecture of the ceiling and the walls, the typical tools for farming and food crafting from a time long forgotten. But the spirit is still living in down there. Tables, chairs, even the men’s toilet (pissoir) is framed by wooden planks for integrating even this into the atmosphere. The light is bright but not too much, air fresh and flavoured with old wood of the surrounding furniture. Especially on hot days literally very cool :D. Like you would imagine a cellar like this. Thumbs up. Desinfection at the door in Corona times and enough soap on the toilet is guaranteed. For not touching paper menu cards they advise to scan a QR code or directly visit qrmallorca.com to see the card. Really cool alternativ and believe me – nearly 99 % of the customers coming will have a smartphone, so I don’t see this as a problem. Health first. The card itself is not overloaded and devided into mainly meat dishes and starters. So if you are vegetarian, probably not the right place, though there are some vegetables offered on the card but seem to be more besides meat. We ordered #14 Albondiguitas con salsa, #42 Pechuga de pollo campero and #49 Secret Ibèric, afterwards café sólo and #63 Gató de Almendras. #14 was clearly heaven on earth. These tender meatballs itself are coming straight from another dimension, but the sauce is just unbelievable tasty, spicy and really smooth with a touch of vine in it. The potatoe cubes on both plates #42 and #49 were really natural, little crispy and tender. The grilled paprika with rough salt were fruity and spicy, the chicken meat coated with some homemade marinade and grilled on a charcoal grill to perfection with REAL black stripes like on an imaginated advertisement. Tender, sweet, sour, rustico, smoky, spicy… perhaps lots of more directions. I have to taste again. Great. On plate #49 same potatoes and paprika, but Iberian pork. Little rests of fat melting away in your mouth with the authentic flavor of a real grill, some crispy crust and very tender meat structure. Heaven has come. Afterwards we ordered typical Mallorcian #63. Unbelievable tasty cake with almonds and a ball of white ice cream and strong espresso (café sólo) we ordered in addition. I am German, my better half is from Spain and we both were totally amazed by this place.
All in all you wouldn’t believe in meeting a place like this down the stairs in a side street of Petra, but I can strongly recommend you to do so. Prices normal (for all around 50 Euro), extreme tasty food, very fresh, brillant atmosphere and framed by old cellar walls. Thanks you, we...

Read moreI've got prob with this review. I lake place and atmosphere, stuff was amazing and carrying but ... We came as group of four without reservation and have been warmly welcomed in restaurant. We order set of bread, ailoli and olives and two sets of fried seafood as starters to share. They were amazing. Served in the way I've never seen before and great for someone into seafood. So far so good. Then came mixed paella for two and two times grilled octopus. And here nightmare starts. Everything was over - over salted. I'm the person who likes salt and I'm typically OD salt. But both dishes were not eatable. Octopus itself was not that bed but all sides (potato, etc) not possible to swallow. Paella was (I believe) pretty good but then someone decided to add salt two or three times. MAybe Chef has suffered from covid lately? I'd say it could be 5 stars place: ambience, great stuff. Salt ruined everything and I'm really surprised that nobody has been tried it before serving. I was unlucky person sharing paella so I just can say that it was my birthday disaster...
