Mala Pekora — Restaurant in Pineda de Mar

The look of this restaurant is the polar opposite to the experience. We waited to be seated at the sign as a table of four at a rather quiet time. We were looked at and ignored by several members of staff before we were even acknowledged. Two of our party went outside to see if a table was free, when we asked a staff member if we could have a table she said we have to go back inside, when we went back in she ignored us! We asked what time final food orders are taken as we were conscious of their closing times etc, we were told at 10 o clock that final food orders were in 25 minutes, for 15 of these minutes we were left waiting, almost in an attempt to make us leave before final orders were taken. A lack of communication with staff meant they ended up cleaning two tables for us and proceeded to seat the people behind, first. We were never given menus, and had to call at staff to have our order taken. The tiny portion of seafood pasta arrived with three clams and two tiny prawns, the pasta was really undercooked and completely stuck together. There was also a closed clam left in one of the dishes. In comparison with several other similar dishes in the area, which are served with full prawns muscles and clams, this was one of the highest priced and worst we’ve had. The pizza was also undercooked, dough was nearly raw and covered in a mountain of mozzarella which slid off. We were never asked what we thought of the food/ service l, if we had been we would have said this in person! Again, we did not want to as we were conscious of staff having to stay back late etc. Will not be going back, far better...

Was really looking forward to trying this restaurant, unfortunately we had the rudest waitress I have ever encountered, when we went to take our seat as instructed by a member of staff at the front, she said over to us it’s nice to ask to be seated before sitting down, I said we were told to take a seat by another member of staff, anyways we let that go, and as she was placing cutlery again stated about how this is her area and she has reservations etc, again I told her, we were told by another members of staff to sit outside. We then waited as she walked by our table at least 5 times, placing cutlery napkins on other tables. And left us waiting, baring in mind we had a 4 year old with us, most places see you want to be in and out of the restaurant. Never saying I’ll be one moment etc. We got up to leave and I went to make a complaint only to be followed by the waitress. And I asked were you going to take our order or just leave us sitting there? To which she said, if you want to sit inside it’s set up, we are only setting up outside, however there were already a table that had just finished drinks, and another with glasses of wine. It seems she was just angry at us for sitting down so could not be nice, then making excuses, when she thought I was going complain about...

Absolutely lovely pizza, saw this place on my first day of holiday and I LOVE authentic proper Italian pizza and its really hard to find near the village I live in in the UK. Popped in today for a meal on my own, kept on getting spammed with work calls so as my pizza arrived I finished 2 slices and asked if I could have it boxed up and pay my bill. I apologised for not being able to stay longer but work beckons even when you're abroad!! Explained I had a work call and id need to take my meal back to my hotel and they were so nice about it. My male waiter was really lovely, young lad with glasses and dark hair i didnt catch his name. The only thing I marked it down for, is i was sat inside where it was very quiet and empty rather than seated outside with most of the other customers. Just got back to my hotel and absolutely INHALED my pizza was gorgeous. Otherwise fantastic place for a quick bite or a sit down meal...
