We had been eagerly awaiting our visit to this restaurant, having previously been unable to dine here due to frequent closures for private events. Sadly, I must say I left disappointed.
Upon arrival, we were seated at the back of the restaurant in rather awkward and uncomfortable seats, especially once more guests arrived. This made the whole experience less appealing.
To start, we had bread and olives with aioli. Unfortunately, we were given a single mini Lidl bread roll by the waiter, reminiscent of the type served at a UK wedding. This was not what we were expecting in Mallorca; we would have preferred real, traditional bread.
The lobster paella, although visually appealing upon arrival, was excessively oily. As frequent paella enthusiasts, we found it flavourful yet overly greasy. The lobster was particularly disappointing—small, with an abundance of green tomalley, and very little white meat, which was dry and inedible. Our son had the piglet roast, which he described as just okay, nothing special.
Despite the good service and attentive staff, our first visit was cut short as we decided to leave before dessert, so I cannot comment on those. Overall, it was an okay experience, but we probably will be returning to see if it was just one...
Read moreI love the location, outside the centre and yet boasting views across the bay. Although "out of season" the place was still popular on a Monday evening. I was seated by the window by the efficient head waiter, whose English was excellent (although "the new boy" seemed to struggle outside his native tongue - not a problem as there were plenty of local patrons, too).
The caried menu covers all the traditional Mallorquin and Spanish favourites, at reasonable prices, and I opted for one of mine: octopus. Heavily seasoned with paprika and rock salt, it was melt-in-the-mouth delicious.
For main, I chose Lechona Al Horno and was offered shoulder or leg but let the chef decide - the shoulder was served with superbly crisped skin, although I must say the accompanying vegetables were barely lukewarm.
With a bottle of water, and the usual bread/olives, the bill came to €37. Here is where I had to drop a star, though, as I waited 20 minutes and asked three times for it.
I would go back, if only for the...
Read moreWhat can I say?! Absolutely fantastic! We came the other evening and booked again for 2 nights later! I had hake with clams and prawns in salsa verde and my partner had the chicken in peppercorn sauce. Absolutely gorgeous then tonight I had scallops to start, absolutely delicious and my partner had the very tasty chicken croquettes. For main he had the lamb which was so succulent and I had cuttlefish and prawns. It was divine. Last time we also had dessert, chocolate fondant with mango sorbet, a fantastic combination and I just had the sorbet. The portion sizes are perfect, we had sangria and it was the best sangria we've had, you can actually taste the red wine in it, finally! Service was exceptional and you felt like you were being brought into their family home. Their attention to detail is brilliant and the whole place, with old wine barrels, it's just a wonderful place to be! Be...
