A Tenda da Loura — Restaurant in Redondela

This was one of the most special dining experiences I have ever had and I can't recommend it enough. I try to search for little hidden gems with lots of character and after reading the reviews I knew I wanted to stop here while walking the camino. Admittedly I do not speak much Spanish so I still get a little anxious when navigating social situations. When you first walk in you only see the store. But I asked the owner if he speaks English (un poco) and about the trastenda (from their website) - it's in the back - and he immediately made us feel so comfortable and so welcomed. We weren't sure what to ask for but the owner told us what he would bring and we trusted him completely. We had bread, a white wine with some sardines and a red wine with meats and cheese. Everything was so delicious. The owner was so kind and patient and really made this a personalized and memorable experience. I can only hope to return to Redondela some day so that I may visit again. Thank you so much for your hospitality! I would give 6 stars...

The most incredible gem in Redondela! The owner treated us with so much kindness, and spent time to teach us about the local wines and Spanish wines. He recommended a white wine to red wine drinkers, and we were blown away. He also provided us with local cheese and olive oil to match which was incredibly delicious. We wish we could have stayed to eat, drink and talk longer! Thank you for your generosity....

A chance wine purchase turned into a lovely afternoon of wine tasting and shared experience while walking the Camino. The owner is an expert in wines, and was so thoughtful sharing so much about the history of wine making in Galacia. This stop, and our conversation, was certainly a highlight of the day and I'd recommend the bar to any pilgrim (and wine enthusiasts) staying in redondala....
