Are you hungry for something different? My wife and I tried out a new restaurant (well, old but at a new location) and were disappointed we hadn't found this place sooner! Miguel's Caribbean Cuisine is a place you won't want to miss. The first thing you will notice coming upstairs to the restaurant is the inviting, tropical themed outdoor seating. We were greeted and seated as we entered the area. We started off with several starters and sides. The first was the Sweet Corn Fritters. They were very tasty. The codfish in it was not strong at all nor was it greasy. We also tried the excellent Sweet Potato Fries. They were crunchy on the outside and soft and tasty on the inside. This was followed by Fried Dumplings with a dipping sauce. This reminded us very much of a deep fried dessert from Okinawa (Sata Andagi - Okinawan Donuts) They are a little dry by themselves but are perfect when dipped in the included sauce. Our main dish was the moist and tasty Jerk Chicken. It included rice/beans, plantains, and a side salad. Everything was quite good, and the side salad was fantastic. It felt bigger than the usual side salads at other restaurants and it wasn't the usual plain, boring fare (see the photo of it). After we finished off all our food, we opted for some coffee and desserts. The coffee con leche was hot and good. The only downside for my wife was the lack of decaffeinated coffee on the day we were there. My wife had the Tiramisu. She LOVED it! It is a dessert you may not want to eat and drive... (I could definitely taste the alcohol in it though it wasn't really that much in it. ;) ) I had the delicious Honey and Banana Milkshake. Even though the price was a little expensive (7€), it was one of the best milkshakes I have had here in southern Spain. (Ask for it to be thick.) We also tasted their moist and delicious Lemon Cake. All of their desserts were homemade. If you are lucky enough to be eating at a time when they aren't crowded, Miguel (the head chef) or Michael will come out and talk with you. Both are very interesting and personable. We loved the decor, the excellent service, and the scrumptious food. It is definitely a place that should be on your list to visit. We will definitely be going again! Some details... Menus are in Spanish and English. The owners and/or staff speak Spanish, English, and French. Credit cards are accepted. They provide take-aways and have future plans to set up a delivery service to the Rota gate twice a day. There is parking on the street nearby or if that's not available then there is parking in the nearby Mercadona parking lot. Now stop reading this and go enjoy their great service, wonderfully delicious food, and relaxing atmosphere! F B: 2RetireesOverseas I G:...

The full details of that evenings events were too wordy for Google. ...but you can find it on other review sites.
So here's the Reader's Digest version - The service was nightmarish! The food was okay. The prices were acceptable.
I would not recommend it to anyone.

Read moreDON’T MISS THIS SPOT! Miguel’s has been our absolute favorite meal during our trip to Spain. Miguel’s gives you flavor, spice, and meat that melts in your mouth. My husband and I went for dinner and had to spot to ourselves with Miguel. We ordered two rum drinks (Hurricane and Eye of the Tiger), the coconut curry chicken, oxtail, corn fritters, and sweet potato fries. Every single thing was PHENOMENAL. The drinks we strong, the food was piping hot, and the ingredients were high quality and made with love. Both card and cash are accepted and there are English & Spanish menus. I will be thinking about this spot for...
