Cervecería Gilber's — Restaurant in Salamanca

I just freaking love this place. The beer, the food, the service. Everything is so cozy it feels like the closest thing you could get to a middle age tavern in a modern setting, the same kind of atmosphere you get in the movies, friendly, people bantering, big food portions awesome beer with great options but friendly to any new folk that come around. Don't be discouraged by the pricing on the food the thing is the plates are actually quite big and most of it is to share with others expect double of what they'd give you at any normal place, I'm a heavy eater so I love this so much. They also shift beer barrels per season so they keep mixing it up a little. The only con I could find it is that the beer is a bit expensive as it's imported, if the beer were offered for cheaper the place would be a 10/10 for me. The only other small con is that if it gets a bit crowded people are a bit loud as the atmosphere is really good and people are having a great time overall but this is common in Spain, we are loud people.

So yeah if you want to have a similar experience to going to a fantasy tavern like the ones you see in the movies and find an awedome cozy place to spend your time with friends this place will be right...

Hacía tiempo que no venía a esta cervecería y entiendo por qué. He pedido una Guiness y me la han echado de lata, le he preguntado al camarero que si no la tenían de tirado y me ha intentado vender : "Esta es la mejor manera de beber una cerveza, porque con el barril entra gas y así está bien fría" He vivido durante años en Reino Unido, he visitado Irlanda y la fábrica de guiness en tres ocasiones y tengo muy claro cuál es una buena guiness: CREMOSA: esta era totalmente líquida. Se debe tirar a 45 grados y antes de llenarla dejarla reposar, lo que se llama double pour. (obviamente este paso lo han ignorado también) Crema blanca de unos dos cm - dudo que lleguara al cm Sabor a café: totalmente acuosa Cuando la bebes deben quedar unos aros de la cremosidad: el vaso ha terminado totalmente limpio!

Por otro lado, no me convence que en una cervecería me hablen de "cerveza bien fría" para una guiness, cuando se debe servir a 6ºC y la extracold (otra variedad que tiene la cerveza) a 3.5ºC

En fin... un vaso de agua a cinco euros que te venden...

Cervecería estilo ingles/irlandés. La verdad que para encontrarla es complicado... Deberíais de poner un letrero un poco iluminado(es solamente mi opinión) Sitio donde no te aburres de mirar las paredes, ya en la entrada tienen cosas chulas como copas, botellas raras... etc... etc... De grifo cervezas llamativas, (Guinness, triple karmeliet, Kwak..) Quizás para mi gusto falto más variedad en carta de botellines, creo recordar que solamente había Desperados, coronita y poco más. Las raciones bastante ricas, con un precio bastante majo. Para otra vez habrá que ir a probar la mega hamburguesaka...
