We stopped off at Lecea for a tour of the caves, tasting, lunch and finally a tour of the vineyards in the vintage Land Rover. It was an excellent choice - Lidia was a fantastic guide, very informative and with a real passion for the history, traditions and methods used. This is a very good, family-run place. The caves are an integral part of the bodega's operations in the present day but there are also previously used historical artifacts displayed. The tasting and lunch were excellent, with the food being homemade and showcasing local produce. Oh, and the wines were also delicious! Finally the vineyard tour was fun riding in the car and very scenic - passing through the town and then to the vineyards which are up at a higher altitude. Plenty of very interesting information about the town, the wider Rioja region and the cultivating methods used now and previously. We all had a great time and would definitely recommend a visit! Hopefully in the future we can visit for the grape...

We loved our visit to Bodegas Lecea. We took the premium tour which included the caves and the winery as well as a trip to the vineyard. Both parts were great. The winery/cave tour is really informative and it’s fun to imagine (and see!) how wine was made centuries ago. The tour goes through all the Lecea caves where the wine is made and stored, and the tour ends with a tasting of three excellent wines and the option to try others too. We followed that up with a drive to the vineyard with the same tour guide. We got to see the Lecea vines (as well as the vineyards of many others) and learn more about the grapes. The best part was lunch in the field that included two more wines and the best tortilla we had in Spain (homemade by the mom of the family that owns the winery). The wine and food on this tour is great and we learned a lot about Rioja winemaking too. Highly...

Our visit to Bodegas Lecea was an absolute gem of an experience! Christina, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and radiated passion for the winery, making the tour both informative and engaging. The entire Lecea family welcomed us with such warmth, generosity, and accommodation—especially remarkable as we were traveling with our 6-month-old, who they made feel right at home. The tour through the historic caves was the coolest wine tour I’ve ever experienced, showcasing the unmatched history and unique charm of the property. The wines themselves were phenomenal, each one reflecting the family’s dedication and craft. I wholeheartedly recommend Bodegas Lecea to anyone seeking extraordinary wines and a heartfelt, family-run experience that...

I can highly recommend this bodega. We joined an English-speaking tour that lasted about 1.5 hours. What I really liked was that there were two wine tastings during the tour itself, perfectly paired with the explanations about viticulture – not just a quick tasting at the very end like in many other places. What also makes this bodega special is its history: at one point the town had around 300 underground cellars, but today this is the only one that still exists in its original form. Here it’s really all about tradition, history, and craftsmanship – and you can feel the authenticity throughout. Our guide was very friendly as well. Absolutely recommended!
