We used to dine here weekly before the previous owner sold the business. The new owner then had a chef who specialised in Peruvian food, which we are not fans on. We took a look at the menu recently and it looked good, and staff confirmed that there was a new chef. So, we chose a Saturday lunchtime to try. It was not a good experience. The well-trained, experienced staff has been replaced with younger, inexperienced staff, who seem to have had their personality extracted. There is no warm, friendly welcome. And no interaction with the customers. The music (which included Flamenco) was loud and dominating, and was not conducive to a relaxed meal. We asked for paper menus, as opposed to using the QR Code. This was not an issue with the food menu, but we were told that we had to use the QR Code for the Wine Menu. There was only one white wine available by the glass. When we queried this, the waitress said that there were others, but that they weren't on the Wine List! 🤬 Our first starter was Scallops in 'American' Sauce (whatever that was). The Scallops were overcooked and tough, and the sauce dominated the dish. We then had Artichokes with Cured Ham. The ham was salty and too thick, and the Artichokes were not great either. My wife ordered Turbot in Sauce. When it arrived, there was no sauce, and the waitress said that they had run out! There was also chips, which the waitress said that she had ordered (which she hadn't). After a little discussion, they brought her lemon for the fish, and roasted peppers. I had a different fish, Corvina, which was a good piece, and piping hot. But why was it surrounded by ice cold tomato? At this stage we decided against dessert and coffee. They have lost our business, which is a shame, as, under the previous owners, it was one of the best restaurants...
Read moreWe held our Wedding at Miramar La Ribera and would like to say a huge thank you to Nuria and the team for making it such a special day. The setting is absolutely stunning and this was matched by the attention to detail and service throughout the whole day. The day was faultless, from holding the ceremony on the attic, with the most breathtaking views, dinner on the first floor, again with spectacular views of the ocean, to the evening reception back on the attic where we enjoyed fantastic drinks, tapas and entertainment with our friends and family while watching the sun go down. We can not recommend this venue highly enough if you are looking for the perfect beachfront location, with faultless service to make your special day a day you will never forget. Nuria and your team you were absolutely amazing, thank you once again, Lots of love...
Read moreGreat views and atmosphere. Good starters and our table overlooking the sea was very nice. However the main course and desserts were terrible.
The fish was dry, overcooked and it had an odd taste to it which was very unpleasant. Also massively expensive (45 eur) for what it was. I am not even sure it was the type of fish we asked for! Absolutely terrible.
We had cheesecake for dessert (I mean, it is really difficult to get that one wrong!) and the cheese was difficult to find in it. Terrible. How can you have a cheesecake with only a tiny layer of actual cheesecake, but covered with mountains of other stuff I.e. seeds? Honestly...
Im not coming back and I'm surely recommending people other places in La Ribera which won't be so posh and good looking but the food will be excellent. Certainly you can get cheesecake with a decent amount of...
