Wow! This place is absolutely stunning! We booked a table in advance requesting a table on the terrace outside, however we were given one just within the covered restaurant which wasn’t a problem as the view was still just as good. It was 8pm and still scorching hot so bear this in mind if you’re not one for being in the heat!! Our waiter was very pleasant and welcoming. We started with the olives, bread and aioli and we also had the mussels and the babaganush which were all delicious. We waited nearly an hour for our mains. Now usually in any other restaurant this would have been an issue, however the ambiance and just general feel of this restaurant with its stunning views of the ocean meant we were in no hurry! We sat and watched the sun go down enjoying our wine and people watching the different people, including families with small children enjoying their evening. The place was buzzing, people were literally queuing at the door waiting for tables. We were worried we were going to be rushed out as we were told when booking it’s a 2 hour slot, luckily this was not the case. We finally got our mains, we had the catch of the day sea bass which was lovely although we felt a little pricey at €60 a head (the price is not on the menu) It does not come with any side dishes either so we ordered the padron peppers and Pattatas bravas which were also very tasty. We enjoyed our meal and sat waiting to have our table cleared and we also wanted to order some cocktails. Finally managed to get our waiters attention, to ask for the cocktail menu, he cleared our table and said he would grab the menu. 15 minutes later still no menu, so we asked another waitress who got the menu straight away. Cocktails were Devine! Literally cannot fault the food/drinks at this restaurant. Would have given 5stars had the service matched. Like I said, we didn’t mind the wait for our food and could have complained if we felt we needed to. The staff are all very pleasant and all very busy! Would suggest they get more staff to ensure everyone gets the service to match the quality, and the price of the food and drinks they provide. We will definitely be back and would...
Read moreWe stayed here for 3 nights in August. This was our second stay at Hostal La Torre. We absolutely love this hotel, but a few things weren’t as good as last time. We arrived around 1pm and our rooms were ready, which was fabulous. We weren’t given a glass of cava like the other residents I watched in the hotel and have since read online - this was a shame. Our room was nice but quite small and the shower leaked quite a bit. The WhatsApp is amazing and they are very helpful and quick to respond. We had the brunch menu on the first day and it was amazing and for the setting I’d say it was worth every penny. That night we wanted a drink in the bar before we headed out, as would be normal in a hotel. We were told we would need to pay €60 per head for a table, which seemed unreasonable as we were staying at the hotel. We then asked if we could just get a drink and take it to our rooms, the lovely lady on reception tried to do this for us, but the manager of the restaurant refused. I found this a disgrace as a resident of the hotel we should have been able to get a drink. This left a bad taste in our mouths. It’s a beautiful restaurant and we had a fabulous meal on the last night. It is very pricy and I feel has gone a little too pretentious in the terms of not looking after guests. The other staff we met were always pleasant and our waiter on the last night was great. There is no pool but the most amazing beach is a short walk from the hotel. Overall we had a great stay but were disappointed with certain aspects. As a hotel, your guests should come...
Read moreI recently visited La Torre restaurant with high hopes, having been a loyal customer for years. However, my experience this time was beyond disappointing. What used to be a charming local gem has now turned into a soulless tourist trap, solely focused on squeezing every penny out of unsuspecting visitors.
The staff were pushy and more interested in upselling than providing genuine service. They tried to impose a ridiculous minimum consumption fee of 100 euros per person, even though we had made a reservation specifically to avoid such charges. Despite our objections, they insisted on enforcing it, showing a complete lack of respect for their customers.
To add insult to injury, they offered us hierbas chiupitos as a supposed gesture of goodwill, something that is standard practice in every other restaurant on the island. It felt like they were trying to placate us with cheap tricks instead of addressing the real issue at hand.
Even though our party eventually increased to three people, they still insisted on charging us an exorbitant 300 euros at all costs. While the food was decent, there are plenty of other establishments on the island with equally stunning views and far better prices.
For anyone seeking an authentic dining experience with breathtaking view and exceptional service, I highly recommend looking elsewhere. Places like Restaurant S'Illa des Bosc maintain their integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction, unlike the disappointing money-grab that Hostal La...
