Hostal Chic — Restaurant in Sant Feliu de Guíxols

Stylish, charming and essentially well-run little hotel only a stone's throw from the main beach.||Having had a very nice lunch earlier in our holiday we ended up coming back here to stay for two nights in order to escape the tourist masses and associated inflated prices of the perhaps more picturesque villages, coves and beaches further north on the Costa Brava. It turned out to be a good decision. We enjoyed another extremely good lunch and spent an essentially relaxing 2 days lazing on the relatively uncrowded beach and strolling around the town itself.||A couple of minor criticisms however. The small room at the back (wihout a usable window or balcony) that our kids stayed in is really very small and was only 5 euros cheaper that the other much more spacious room (with balcony) where we slept - or attempted to. Which brings me to my second point. No effort is made by the management to 'encourage' guests to be as quiet as possible when leaving or returning to their rooms - no signs that I saw, nada. I was woken up a few times by people coming back late at night, talking very loudly, opening and closing (banging) doors, taking showers at 3.00am! etc. It's management's job to somehow remind their guests that they are not alone and to act in a respectful way towards other paying guests, I think. Perhaps they could also see if they can somehow deaden/dull the sound that those doors make when closing!! ||Apart from all that (!) -highly recommended. ||PS Breakfast was excellent and the service in the restaurant was friendly...

What a great experience to stay at Carmen’s Hostal Chic!

Our road trip let us to Sant Feliu and we arrived spontaneously and haven’t even booked anything yet. From google maps we thought it could be quite nice so we called Carmen. We got a very warm welcome and because it was off season she showed us two of the rooms and we could choose. Wow, so special and nicely arranged. Not the standard setting you find in most of all the hotels. Everything you see was nicely and tasteful arranged with very unique furniture and interiors and it was super clean as well. Also the breakfast was very good and individually arranged. We first stayed one night because we actually wanted to drive further north but than we ended up staying another night and so on till we were there for 5 nights and planned day trips from there. We could enjoy the rooms “Lola” and “Chic”.. both very individual with cool arrangements. Chic got something special with the roof top terrace for sure ;)
