The service was so bad, we decided to not even give the restaurant a chance. I am not one to be picky and expect immaculate service, but I definitely will not spend my money in a place where a passive aggressive waiter takes out his frustrations on the clients.
We waited outside for 10 minutes, both waiters saw us and passed us without saying anything. We then thought that maybe the place didn't require a reservation and decided to sit down at the empty table. Once seated, the waiter shows up and is giving us attitude for sitting down at a table that MIGHT be reserved (there are no signs that the table is reserved whatsoever). He says he will go check and get back to us.
10 minutes pass and he still hasn't gotten back to us so we decide to stand up and leave, but right then the waiter shows up again with the menus in his hand. I am surprised and say in a friendly manner "oh sorry, we were about to go because we weren't sure if the table was reserved in the end" and he replies "YEAH. I told you I was going inside to check wasn't I? That is what I was doing."
That is when we kindly said that we were going to leave, to which he sarcastically apologises. At this point we decide to underline that he was quite unkind and that it is no way to treat customer. He then completely changes attitude and starts asking why we think that. We didn't even dignify him with a response.
Moral of the story: we spend our money in a beautiful place, closer to the beach where we had a great view, great food and...
Read moreTo start, 3 stars is an average place that is expected. It goes up and down from there. A 3 star is worth trying. There were 3 of us. My wife said the steak tare tare was one of the best she has had. My son had the rib dish, and it was very good. I had the mixed grill. The meat for this was very good, but there was no seasoning to the meat. This gave it a very one-dimensional flavor. I had to add salt and pepper to it to bring out some flavor. For starters, we had the olives side with anchovies, very good. The Iberian ham, excellent and the flat bread with tomato, very good. The house wine I know from my travels is excellent. I saw many eating the burgers and they looked very good. I recommend it but it's is good to know what to expect. Seasoning when doing meat is critical, and that was the only...
Read moreThis is our best meal in Catalonia. We had the 3-course lunch €14.95 and loved every dish that we had. A shoutout to their charcoal grilled chicken. It smelled so good that the guests at the next table took a look at what we had. It tasted amazing. For starters, we had pork feet with red prawns and gazpacho with mango foam. 😋
We were there on a Thursday and noticed many people ordering their paella. It wasn’t on the menu. They have paella as their Thu specials. Seems like only the regulars know about it. This place is packed very quickly during lunchtime. We made reservations at the restaurant to avoid disappointment.
We came across Can Kiku when we were at Girona. They had a takeaway counter there and it wasn’t open when we were there. Glad to see them here and try their dishes. Hope to be back in Spain for Can...
