"Yesterday I went to eat at La Bonaigua restaurant, located in Sant Just Desvern. It is a restaurant that offers signature cuisine that fuses the Spanish/Catalan tradition with Italian/Sicilian touches, using top quality products cooked with great care. My wife and I went to eat during lunch time. To share, we ordered several dishes that pleasantly surprised us. We started with some seafood croquettes, creamy on the inside with a crunchy outer layer. We also tried some "rustit" croquettes, with an intense flavor and a perfect breading. We continued with a fresh bocconcini mozzarella, accompanied by confit cherry tomatoes, basil pesto and extra virgin olive oil. But the appetizer that impressed me the most were the low-temperature eggs with crunchy guanciale and black truffle. The eggs, cooked to perfection, had a silky texture and the creamy yolk mixed with the intense flavor of the crunchy guanciale and the aroma of the grated black truffle. A combination of flavors simply spectacular! For the second course, we ordered an artichoke and prawn rice that was impressive. The rice, mellow and full of flavor, had been cooked in a fish broth that enhanced the flavor of the prawn. The artichokes, tender and tasty, perfectly complemented the dish. For dessert, we shared a mascarpone mousse with Sicilian watermelon and strawberry granita. The mousse, light and creamy, melted in your mouth, and the watermelon granita, refreshing and with an intense fruit flavor, was a perfect contrast. The fresh strawberries completed this "simple" but delicious dessert. The atmosphere of La Bonaigua is welcoming and the service was impeccable. The prices are in line with the quality of the food and service. In short, I highly recommend La Bonaigua to all those who want to enjoy a unique gastronomic experience in Sant Just Desvern. No description in the menu. I was expecting a light salad with salmon, but as a result, they brought me a heavy salad with a bunch of potatoes and a bunch of mayonnaise. There was so little salmon that it got lost in this mayonnaise-potato mixture. The staff was quite friendly and pleasant, except for an stout man in a black shirt with a terminal. When I tried to pay for my order with a 500 euro banknote, this man started being rude. He said I had to go to the bank and change the money. The time on the clock was 10pm. When I asked where exactly I could change the money, he replied that he did not know and began to claim that the restaurant could not accept a 500 euro bill because it was illegal. I was outraged by this, since the same day earlier I had paid for purchases in the store with another exactly the same banknote. The check in the store was less than the bill in the restaurant and the woman in the store accepted the note without any questions. Fortunately, the waiter behaved more decently in this situation, and adequately explained everything.
