Restaurante Grill La Venta — Restaurant in Sant Lluís

My friend and I had such a terrible experience in this outsider restaurant, with "fancy" decoration, and numerous megalomaniac portraits of the owner.

After sitting, we told the waiter we were not that hungry. The owner came to take our request. Friendly man at first. As we were not hungry, the order was simple: one starter to share, one main to share between the two of us.

He was very insistent into making us ordering wine (asking at least 4 times, passable...), and the same thing with starters. Somehow, he managed to make me order an extra plate of starter, quite brilliantly.

When the starters arrived, and by the look of the giant slice of toasted bread and tomatoes, my friend and I realized that we won't be able to finish the meal. We immediately called the waiter and asked him kindly to cancel the main dish.

The owner came furious to us explaining that the main was already ready, and that he doesn't want to waste his food blabla. I said "okay okay, no stress, bring the main and we will have some and bring the rest in a doggy bag". He talked to us like idiot tourists. He must be used to do so...

Anyway, 10 long minutes after we finished our starters, guess what... the same owner came with two main!! We had a verbal argument in the restaurant. I tried playing cool, saying it's okay to make mistake, while it was obvious the owner was trying to trick us "idiot tourists"

Amazing restaurant, beautiful decor and lovely space outdoor. The staff was super nice and friendly (we went with a baby, and they were great 🥰). It was the best meal we had in our vacation, and we tried only the tapas, but all the dishes that were on other tables looked amazing as well. We tried tortilla, huevos rotos with jamon, calamares, croquettas e pan con tomate 🤤 everything was delicious. The dessert was white chocolate foundant, really good too. A place to recommend and come back for sure 🤩 (took only a photo of the first tapas coming in because it was so good that I just remembered...

We looked at the menu on their website last night. Decided it looked great and even chose what we would order. Booked and arrived today for lunch. Prices on the menus we were given had increased beyond belief. A beef fillet steak had increased from €23 to €30 for a small 250gm portion. Not willing to be ripped off like this we chose one starter to share, wife had a second starter as a main, and I ended up with a burger. Not impressed with an online menu at one price and an in-house menu with inflated prices. No menu available outside so you can see...
