It's not the first time I've been there, but it's the worst I've ever been treated.
I want to make it clear that the food is very good. Especially the El Sol pizza and the pistachio Gnocchi (which unfortunately are no longer on the menu).
However, I don't know why we were treated the way we were treated, but the service was deplorable.
We made a reservation 4 days in advance for 13:30. We arrived, we had to wait a bit (so far so normal) because they told us that there were still people at our table, but that they had already been notified and now they were leaving. There were many free tables covered by awnings and roofs, even inside, but they left us in the worst possible place: three small tables together on the sidewalk where the umbrellas could not cover everything, because there was a huge hole through which the sun was coming through (a sunny day in june in Mallorca). We complained as soon as we saw it, but instead of offering to move us to another table (remember there were multiple free ones), they said they would try to do something about the umbrellas. Spoiler, they didn't get to do anything.
Here the failure was ours, because we stopped insisting, as we knew the food was good and we were hungry.
As time went by, some of the table (there were 6 of us) got a little sun, but the most annoying part of the sun was on the table (we had the drinks in a corner so they wouldn't heat up or melt).
While waiting for the food we decided to try again and told one of the waitresses to please give us some shade. We don't know if it was her or the manager, but we were ignored. They completely ignored us.
It wasn't until the food arrived that we complained again and here they finally decided to do something. The first solution was to move an umbrella that harmed other customers, because now they did not receive shade, so after moving it and trying to open it in that hole that tortured us, they returned it to its place. The other brilliant idea was to put a blanket to cover the hole, but it was not going to hold and part of the straw umbrella was falling on our food, so tired and hungry we asked them to let us eat quickly and end this.
Allow me to insist that, at that moment, there were still multiple tables for 6 people free.
In short, we do not understand why we could not change our table from the first moment. It was a horrible meal, because we did not understand why we were treated like that. What should we have done? Ask for a good table at the reservation?
One mistake we made was to stay or settle the first time we were not offered a solution.
And we feel sad and angry, because we really like that place, but we wanted to express our dissatisfaction, because the truth is that we felt very badly treated by the whole service, because instead of providing the easiest solution, that of changing our table, they decided to let us bake like...
Read moreOh, let me tell you about my recent adventure in Son Serra de Marina, Mallorca! It was a perfect sunny day when I stumbled upon the hidden gem called El Sol Sunshine Bar. Nestled along the coastline, this charming bar offered not only incredible views but also some mouthwatering food. As I walked in, the aroma of delicious dishes greeted me, making my stomach growl with anticipation. I found a cozy spot on the terrace overlooking the turquoise sea, and the view was simply breathtaking. The gentle waves crashed against the shore, creating a soothing soundtrack for my culinary journey. Disclamer (It wasn't paella, unfortunately I confused it with the restaurant the day before. My mistake. I had Asian wok here and it was great. Unfortunately, I don't remember the exact name of the dish, but you can see what it is in the picture.)
The attentive staff added to the delightful experience, providing friendly service and helpful recommendations. With each bite, I couldn't help but feel grateful for discovering this hidden oasis. So, if you're in Son Serra de Marina, make sure to visit El Sol Sunshine Bar for an unforgettable combination of amazing food and a view that will steal your heart. Trust me, you won't be...
Read moreThe food is nice the price is nice but the service is unfriendly. I assume you have to pay extra for a smile Yesterday I thought it is just the day Sunday busy etc but when I asked one of the main waiters for the e bill and she nodded yes she kept on talking to a German couple for the next 5 minutes as my assumption is that she is also German. So I asked an other for the bill and paid there the remarkable was is that when we left she checked if we paid not to say sorry. Really so bad for if you run a hospitality shop. There is not of competition here as they are the only at this side of the beach on this little town or urbanization so they get away with it. 🥵. We are here now for the second time as I thought maybe they just had a bad day but no again a service as if they do not like that I come here. I have the conclusion it is part of the culture of this cafe/restaurant. Such a pity. As for great service you happily come back, here just if you like the food or like to be on this part...
