We stayed in the beautiful hotel and dined here that night. It is in a perfect place as it is covered from the sun and the rain. It looks lovely too. We were served by a very delightful girl and she made the evening very special for us as she explained the food and the wines and was genuine and a warm people person. Everything was local and seasonal. We had the pressed Veal cheek and the duck. The meals looked lovely, but unfortunately, the veal was almost tasteless. It was very tender, but with mashed potato, it was all bland. The duck was nice, but I have had much better duck in Spain. The deserts were also ok. The Catalan cream had a slice of 'burnt' orange on top. It was full of pips and was mostly pith, which was not nice to eat. I would suggest that the pips and pith are removed before serving as it was unappetising. It could be fabulous and being the only restaurant like that in Santa Pau, has...

Make sure you don't go to the italian section (run by a woman who shouldn't be in the service industry).

She yanked the menus out of mine an my girlfriend's hands after 5 minutes because new guests had arrived. We also witnessed how she casually walked up to another couple and said "you don't need this right?" before taking one of their wine glasses, explaining "we have run out of wine glasses" before walking away to another table, putting the glass down there.

The food you may wonder? The most sub par carbonara I've ever had. It had what looked but most certainly wasn't parmesan, rendering the dish completely...

We stayed at the hotel and had a couple lovely meals, very friendly staff, explained the menu and made some good wine recommendations. Semi open air seating near a courtyard area, very peaceful part of the village. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Food was delicious and well presented, portions differed but were all ok (lots of duck, the prawns were a nice lighter meal). Reasonably priced, recommended! We ate in the traditional Catalan restaurant, not the...
