Restaurante El Olivo — Restaurant in Santa Pola

This is by far the best overall restaurant we have experienced while visiting spain! The venue is beautiful and the tempereture is chilled as a welcoming contrast to the warm climate outside. The food is delicious and is really some of the best i’ve tasted in Spain. Their Red wine of the house is also something to try!

But… BUT! The service is really what stands out! It’s completely different from any other resturant we have eaten at and this really elevates the experience as a whole. We had one waiter the whole evening with the name of Rubén and I can’t even begin to describe how this man is clearly above the service standards. His English was also good wich is a must for tourists like us. He helped us choose the best dishes while adding richness to the food with backstories and such. Ps the ice cream for dessert was something else!

Strongly recommend this place where the food is made with love and elevated with oustanding service! Thanks for a wonderful night.

Terrible service. Questionable business practices. I'm not sure that I've ever been so inspired to give a one-star rating until our experience here. Yes, the food was good, hence I'll accept at least one star. But the wait time just to place our order was about 25 minutes, and for no apparent reason (not a busy night). We both ordered chicken and pasta, the size of which was more fit for an appetizer. The entire time I ate, I kept expecting the waiter to come with another plate of something. I mean, there had to be more than this! The portion was appallingly small (see pic). Finally, we were also charged 3 Euro for the small plate of nuts and Aoli that the waiter came with when we first arrived (see pic). I have never had this happen before. They should have at least informed us that they charge for things that any respectable restaurant offers for...

What an amazing restaurant! We went here twice during our holidays and loved both times. The food was delicious and the tastes lingered long after we left the restaurant. But what made this place so special was the service. Wow, it was exceptional. Everyone made us so welcome and encouraged us with our broken Spanish. The cook said hello and greeted us both times and we were twice offered liquors on the house. To be greeted and said farewell to with a big smile and a handshake from a fantastic waiter is to be treated like royalty. Thank you so much to all of you! You deserve all the success...
