I had lunch there this afternoon and I was appalled by the service I received. The waiter was rude from beginning to the end. I had lunch on my own, my friends are joining me tomorrow and I thought I would try the restaurant as it has a nice view over the bay and eventually book a table for the 6 of us tomorrow for my birthday. I will definitely NOT come back . I made the effort to speak Spanish, the waiter was really unpleasant, barely eye contacted me, told me in a rude way that the only tables for 1 available were the ones in the sun, which was absolutely fine as I live in England and therefore deprived of sun and later, as I was waiting to see the menu, he added using the same arrogant and overbearing tone to check the digital menu saying « Que necesitas? » which is translated to « What do you need? » , and that’s because I didn’t have signal/internet and I told him. Food was lovely and arrived quickly. I had Calamares al Andaluz. At no point the waiter came to check if everything was fine with my meal nor offer to top up my drink although it was empty! I left my empty glass at the edge of the table, for him to realise, and I eventually managed to get his attention and asked him for the same drink which was a Caña con limón, and he got me a caña sin limón, instead of a beer with lemon , he got me just a beer! and he just put it on the table and left without looking nor smiling at me. I wanted to have more drinks there but he totally put me off. I also wanted to inquire for my birthday but I didn’t have the chance. The waiter was giving a good service to tables for two or more only. I hope to get luckier for my dinner tonight and find a decent place with a decent service and top quality drinks too. The only good champagne they had was a Dom Perignon, which I could have coped with for my birthday but honestly I will not come back because of this waiter, who seemed to be well trained and professional with others, but not with me! He possibly was a supervisor or manager I would say. I left my credit card on the table as I tried to ask for the bill many times but he wouldn’t even look over my table, he brought the card machine, put it on the table, and left without looking again. His colleague then took my card without a word nor asking permission and used the contactless. Absolute disgrace. I did not leave ANY tip and they didn’t even say bye when I left and they...
Read moreThis restaurant is a real scam!!! Usually I never bother to post a review but here I am doing it because the experience in this restaurant was horrible! I went to the Bon Bar restaurant in Cala Figeiras on Friday 23 July 2021 at 13:30. I ordered the fish of the day. The waiter explained to me that the price was by weight: 30€ / kg. I ask him for a small fish as I am eating alone. He comes and shows me the fish before cooking it which is actually quite small (400 - 500g approximately I think). The seller then serves me the fish (which seems much smaller than the one he showed me before) with some chips. The fish was ok but not much more as it was overcooked and smelled quite strong so not sure if it was very fresh ….
The seller then brings me the bill and asks me to pay ... 50€ only for the fish !!!! What??? He tells me that this is the price considering the weight of the fish and refuses to tell me the real weight (he had forgotten according to him). In fact, at 50€, that would mean that the fish was 1,7 kg !!!!We eat 4 on a 1.7 kg fish and I can tell you that with what I had on my plate, I didn't stuff myself .....
Last Sunday, I talked to some German friends who regularly come to Cala Figeiras in the summer and they told me that they too, like many other tourists, had been ripped off in this restaurant. I don't understand why the ratings on Google are so high, maybe people don't realise that paying 50€ for a small fish in a restaurant in Spain is not the price?
In short, a real scam! Avoid this restaurant at all costs, only the view on the small harbour of Cala Figeira is nice but you will pay a crazy bill for fish...
Read moreYes, yes, five stars all the way. When we arrived, there were no tables available right in the front of the patio, but the staff and manager were kind enough to let us know that they would be happy to move us to one of the prime tables as soon as it were available.. which they did. I should mention, most of the tables have a good view, including those located inside. While we were inside the dining room, we caught a glimpse of the lobster tank, which had what three different varieties of lobster breeds inside, of various sizes. So, of course we were intrigued. Our server Gracia, was very attentive and helpful with all of our questions about the menu. We opted for some fresh clams and octopus to start which were freaking amazing. And then we did the fried Mallorcan lobster over french fries and fried eggs which is a typical local dish here. If you’re here in Cala Figuera, and you have one option for lunch or dinner do NOT hesitate. THIS is the spot. On top of the absolutely perfect execution of the dishes, the view is...
