Restaurant Sa Plaça — Restaurant in Santanyí

We visited this restaurant this evening for an attempt to have dinner, the service started off just ok when we were sat at our table and gave menus… we proceeded to sit for 15 minutes without anyone trying to take a drink order or anything! We continued to sit as we were hungry and thought maybe if we looked at some of the staff they might approach us to take our order. They sat chatting and laughing with one another. We then closed our menus to let the staff know that we were ready to order, but nothing yet again. Even the cutlery wasn’t cleaned I think that says it all! At this point we decided to leave as we would not be giving them our custom especially if they can’t even provide a decent service at all! After walking out and scanning other restaurants menus I noticed that the staff are too busy running between the sister restaurant across the street. Absolute disgrace. Worst service I’ve received from a restaurant, they definitely do not deserve their high rating! I’m not one for complaining or writing reviews but after this experience I decided to inform other potential consumers about this shambles of a restaurant. The location is nice. The food is good but on the higher end for tapas. The service was good until we got the bill. On the bill there was a charge of 2.5 Euros per person (incl a kid) for the table "cutlery" cubiertos. This is not allowed and on top was not startet anywhere on the menu. Hence an unknown charge you can not avoid. I imediatly mentioned this and asked for it to be removed. They said they had to check with their boss. When we went to sit down and politely asked if they were serving food, we were met with, “We can see you sitting down, we’re coming, just wait,” said in quite a rude manner. After that, it took a long time for anyone to come to our table, and when they did they looked at us funny. We explained we didn’t want to order drinks straight away because we weren’t sure if we were going to eat there, but the attitude we received put us off completely.
