I have mixed feelings about ranking this restaurant. The place is modern and stylish, and the staff is friendly and professional. It has a great atmosphere and excellent service. However, I cannot say the same about the food.
The worst dish was the octopus with potatoes. I can’t call it "pulpo a la feira" because it didn’t resemble it. The octopus was overcooked, and the potatoes were a bit mushy. It seemed like they heated it in a pan, resulting in overcooking the octopus and slightly broken potatoes. Even the presentation and the paprika powder (pimenton) looked rushed, lacking attention to detail.
The seafood croquettes were average, with plenty of room for improvement. The entrecote dish was reported to be good but appeared dry and lacked the usual juices one expects from a well-cooked piece of quality meat. However, my black rice (squid ink/Fish and seafood) was good—perhaps the best dish we had. My husband ordered fish, which he said was good, but it arrived cold, preventing him from fully enjoying his meal.
In the end, this restaurant did not inspire me to return. The prices are high for what they offer, and I wouldn’t want to pay a hefty bill again only to be dissatisfied. It’s a shame because it had been recommended to me as an excellent option.
Note: My biggest disappointment was the octopus, since being in Galicia and having a restaurant capable of serving such bad octopus is a disgrace. Very disappointment.
Read moreFantastic restaurant, everything is delicious. The waiters are super professional people, attending everybody in the place without almost any wait. One fantastic choice is choosing many different tapas to share among everybody in the table, to be able to taste many different portions. The "pans" are really good to share, and there are some original plates, like the ones with seaweed. The jamón is fantastic in the place, with...
Read moreI actually ate at the sister restaurant next door which is called Bodeguilla de San Lorenzo. (Santa Marta's kitchen wasn't open yet.) It's a modern neighborhood restaurant at the city borders of Santiago de Compostela. The digital menu has quite a variety of dishes to offer and the service is very good. I had a large piece of baked cod fish with boiled potatoes and grilled onions, accompanied by a dry "Alma de..." white wine....
