Bar Restaurante Casa Amparo — Restaurant in Santo Domingo de la Calzada

We selected this restaurant on 26th june 2018. Very nice location, but a bit under marketed. From the outside it didn't make that much impression. Being inside it looked very good. The food was excellent; all dishes. Great asparagus, gambas as a starter. And top steak and cod as a main course. Couldn't be better!. Excellent cook. Restaurant is definitely the best in town. The owners running this reataurant are not fully aware of this yet. But I trust this will come....

I am surprised this place only got 4 stars. For one, the resteraunt had my heart! We ordered grilled mushroom, beef tripes, egg with blood sausage and piquillo peppers, and pork secret. Every dish hit home. Well I am not Spanish, but this is what home cooking is about internationally. I wanted a bowl of rice to go with mushroom and jamon bits, and soak every drop of bread with beef tripe sauce. I am giving the restaurant five stars and I hope it wins more hearts...

PILGRIMS BEWARE! I ordered an Ensalada Mixta and a small draft beer. I was asked if I wanted a dessert, but I said no thanks. The bill was at 12 EUR because the owner claimed I had been given 50% off a 3 course menu. When I protested, he used as an excuse, that the waiter did not understand English. Definitely a...
