Nice location, nice place inside, good views, but two members of staff ruin it. I kind of feel sorry for the owners, if it's not their fault. We went in the evening after walking 27 km. We thought it looked nice, but after the first drink, we had to go up to the bar to order each time because the girl behind the bar didn't bother to come and serve. She was also totally rude when I ordered my drink pulling a face and making some kind of weird noise of not understanding me, despite me speaking perfect Spanish (my Spanish wife was a couple of feet away and heard it all). In the morning, we went over for breakfast after being told they had a breakfast menu by the hotel across the road. My wife asked that time because I couldn't be bothered to explain myself twice like the night before, and the youngish girl said no menu just this, and pointed to a glass display case with a few apples, croissants and Spanish Tortilla! My wife pushed it and asked for tostada, which in the end arrived. I won't go back there again next year, and a family we met had an almost identical experience, so again, I feel sorry...
Read moreIf you are a Camino pilgrim, beware of this restaurant’s “Bait & Switch” tactic. They have a signboard starting a pilgrim menu at Euro 11. Once you are seated, they speak only in Spanish and do not accept your request for the pilgrim menu. They then point at the QR code on table for you to pull up the menu yourself on your phone. When you protest, they then bring an iPad with the ala carte menu in English. So, they can prepare content in English but no one speaks it nor explains why the pilgrim menu on signboard is not offered?
Re their dishes, the pulpo is actually good (4 stars; pricing is on par with bigger cities). The baked fish (bacalao) was terribly over cooked (1 star).
But I would not want to patronize an establishment that employs questionable marketing tactics. We ate here on...
Read moreAn absolutely sensational meal and great value menu del dia. Every dish was thoughtful, delicious and well flavoured. We loved everything we ate, and loved the attention to detail from the staff who constantly checked on us to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. We also appreciated how they used Google Translate to communicate with us, considering our Spanish isn't great. Super helpful! As a pilgrim walking the Camino, you really appreciate a restaurant that takes the time to be kind to you and treat you with the respect they would show to their regulars and this place offered us that and more. Highly recommend! I just wish we were here another day so we could try more of the menu....
