Restaurant Fonoll Marí — Restaurant in Son Servera

My fiance and I went on Sunday, March 26th, during the day for drinks. Our sangria was amazing and very well priced for a loter to split! All the food people around us were ordering smelled and look fantastic so we decided we would come back later that evening for dinner!

We came back later that evening but hadn't realized the clocks had moved forward 1 hour that morning. We got there late at night, and we thought they were closing up, so we were prepared to go find dinner somewhere else. The owner saw us walking away and asked us if we were there for dinner. We said yes, but we apologized for getting there late and did not want to keep them open since no one else was there. He insisted on us coming in so he could feed us! He was so incredibly hospitable and made us feel almost like family. The paella was out of this world amazing. It was even hand delivered to our table by the head chef! The owner came out and chatted with us for a while towards the end of our meal and even drank a glass of wine with us. Asked us about our day and how it had been. Only to find out we had eaten lunch at his other restaurant in Cala Millor, Per Tot, earlier that day before we came here to have drinks.

Amazing family run restaurant, food was top notch, and they took us in and pampered us even though we were ignorant late Americans!

I must begin by saying the hospitality was five stars, the staff were polite and kind just as expected when going for a meal out. However the restaurant was quite pricy especially to say the food was a three star “Average”, which I would be very disappointed with if I chose some of the most pricy dishes coming in at around 25 euros. We were particularly disappointed with the 3 euros we paid for bread, just to receive three slices when we were next to a shop that sold the same bread for less than a euro for a whole stick. Mainly a fish restaurant, so why order a steak? In the past we’ve passed this restaurant many times, thinking the above.

The image of a steak on the A board, lured us in not expecting too much, what a great choice it turned out to be!

The steak was a very good selection of meat, cooked by an Indian chef, the results were AMAZING. Could not fault it, Luka gave excellent service and was very friendly throughout. We will visit many more times in our future visits to this...
