Restaurante Ca Na Bel Port Vell — Restaurant in Son Servera

My wife, two children and I, have very recently enjoyed two FANTASTIC dining experiences at Ca Na Bel. It's an excellent family-run place that serves authentic local fare - unlike many of the tourist-focused places - and usually has lots of locals dining there. On our first day/arrival in Cala Millor we went to Cana Bel for lunch. I opted for the Dish of the Day (homemade Seafood & Meat Paella and fish in tomato sauce). My husband (a Pescatarian) opted for Squid and Chips-it was excellent. Our two children had Chicken & Chips followed by ice cream. I sampled the Sangria (made following a secret family recipe) it was the best I’ve ever tasted. We enjoyed our dining experience so much that we chose to return to Cana Bel restaurant on our last night in Cala Millor and enjoyed another wonderful meal. Unfortunately, our dining experience here was a bit disappointing. The food, while flavorful, was served cold, which was a major letdown. The portions were also relatively small for the price.

When we mentioned that the fish was still cold inside, the staff simply microwaved it, which didn't solve the problem. The prawns were tasty but also felt slightly undercooked.

Als je graag cultuur letterlijk wil proeven, dan raad ik Ca Na Bel aan. Dawn en Pedro zijn samen met hun zoon en dochter de rode draad van deze mallorcaans restaurant. Hier zul je typische gerechten uit de buurt proeven, die dagelijks vers bereid worden. Er werd een uitzondering voor mij gemaakt en ik mocht een klein kijkje in de keuken nemen..( als hobby kok is dat natuurlijk heel leuk! ) en uiteraard meteen wat foto's gemaakt en wat tip's gekregen :-) Verder kun je heerlijk op het terras van je eten genieten, of gewoon binnen of in het gedeelte waar er een airconditioning aanwezig is. Wel fijn met die hete dagen! De wc was schoon. De prijzen zijn schappelijk. Er komen heel veel mensen uit de buurt. Toen ik er was, was er ook een band, met een 3 gangen diner voor 20 euro, plus 1 drankje. Heel gezellig! Een aanrader! Uiteraard zullen smaken altijd verschillen.
