Far West Village Teruel — Restaurant in Teruel

Descubrí este local en una visita a Teruel hace un par de meses, pero he querido esperar a repetir la visita, en este caso con comida incluida, para hacer una reseña con más fundamento.

En primer lugar, hay que decir que el sitio es grande, amplio y con distintos ambientes, por lo que puedes escoger el rincón donde estés más a gusto. Hay también una terraza cubierta donde se está muy bien si prefieres el aire libre. La decoración es muy bonita, te sientes totalmente en un local del Oeste americano. Se han gastado dinero en ello, y lo han hecho con buen gusto. La música suena en todo el local, incluida terraza y baños, y es buen country, algo antiguo quizá; me hubiera gustado oír algo de cantantes de country moderno como C. Stapleton, M. Lambert o K. Chesney, por decir tres. Suena bien y a un volumen que, para mi gusto, es perfecto: ni tienes que forzar la voz para hablar con alguien ni se queda en un murmullo inapreciable. En resumen, un local donde puedes tomar una bebida pasando un rato agradable o ir a comer o cenar. Me parece también un sitio ideal para celebraciones de cumpleaños, comuniones… o incluso bodas.

El servicio: He visto reseñas donde se quejan de la lentitud al servir, y cuando al llegar nos dijeron que poco después de nosotros había una reserva para 50 personas, nos echamos a temblar. Pues en nuestro caso fue todo rapidísimo: Pedimos la comida, salimos a la terraza a tomar una cerveza y antes de haberla terminado nos avisaron de que teníamos todo en la mesa. No pasarían ni 10 minutos. Mientras comíamos llegaron los famosos 50, que por razones de trabajo solo tenían una hora para comer. Pues en efecto, en una hora llegaron, comieron y se fueron. No se cómo lo consiguió el personal, pero desde luego ni Billy el Niño disparaba tan rápido. Añadir que los 3 miembros del staff con los que tuve contacto (dos vaqueras y un vaquero) me parecieron super amables. Un diez.

La comida: Hacía tiempo que no me comía un solomillo tan tierno y sabroso, servido en piedra caliente para que cada cual se lo haga a su gusto y se mantenga a buena temperatura. La guarnición muy bien, patata asada y alguna otra cosa. Mis acompañantes pidieron lagarto y costillas bbq y quedaron igualmente encantados. La parrillada de verduras estaba muy buena, aunque al lado de las carnes palidecía un poco. De postre pedimos una tarta de chocolate que no era nada del otro mundo pero cumplía bien.

Precio: Si lo que buscas es llenar el estómago por poco dinero, este no es tu sitio. Pero considerando la calidad de los ingredientes, lo bien hecho que estaba todo, el buen servicio y el agradable local, no me pareció en absoluto caro: salimos a unos 35 euros contando las cervezas previas y un par de gintonics posteriores. Para mí, razonable.

En resumen, si tienes prevista una visita a Teruel, y más aún si vives allí, éste es un local que merece la pena visitar, y al que volveré sin duda más de una vez. Les deseo que sigan en la buena...

The ribs were way too fatty and needed to be cooked more. The spiciest burger that they had was not spicy at all, and it was more rare than medium rare, and quite gross - they do not ask how you would like the meat to be made at any point. The coleslaw salad was the tiniest I’ve ever seen. One of their so-called spiciest sauces was not spicy at all. They also brought us the wrong sauce for our potato dish.

The food is not served all at the same time, leaving one person with their food and the others waiting more for their other plates - food should always be brought all at the same time, it’s just common sense. Overall we do not recommend and we will not be returning...
