Restaurante Alma Toledana — Restaurant in Toledo

The food was 4/5, about what you’d expect from a hotel restaurant. My steak was tough, but the fish soup was good. The service was a clear 0/5. Our waiter, Javier, was rude and dismissive to our family of four (two teen girls, mom and dad), even raising his voice at times. As a fluent Spanish speaker, I can say this wasn’t a cultural misunderstanding it was just poor service.

Strangely, once other guests arrived, Javier’s tone completely changed and he became professional and polite, not towards our family but to the other gust, with us he remained distant. It felt personal and left us with a bad impression. But he still got a tip, because my husband is too nice.

On the bright side, hotel staff were friendly overall, and breakfast with a completely different crew was excellent, great service and a 4/5 meal.

The view was great but the restaurant is not...

Restaurante Alma Toledana opens 8am till 11am, it is mainly aimed at those staying at the Hotel Abaceria, where I was staying. The Atmosphere is breathtaking as you are upon a hill looking down upon the historic walled city of Toledo from a distance.

Service was great, however I only gave two stars for the food simply because the restaurant did not really facilitate my halal needs. What you can only have from the menu is French Omelette, which includes an Omelette, with 5 pieces of a tomato and 5 odd...

Gracias por el detalle de retrasarnos la reserva y bien por la paella que estaba bastante buena. Lo demás: Mal cuando pides un vino de la carta y no sirves, al menos, la primera copa. Mal los cafés, porque no puede tener la misma cantidad un expresado que un cortado; Aquí, a pesar de no haberlo en carta, no es difícil preparar unos cafés irlandeses, pero allá cada uno con su imaginación y capacidad. Mal las bebidas; Cuando pides un tinto de verano, lo suyo es que adviertas que es de botella ,(no es indispensable, pero por el sitio en el que estás creo que sí es recomendable). Mal porque cambias la ubicación de la terraza al interior alegando que hay avispas y, casualidad, alguien se come una paella fuera sin el menos problema (puede ser que, con el aire, las avispas se fuesen). Mal el servicio en la mesa sin una adecuada retirada de los platos y/o cubiertos usados, aunque he de decir que SOBRETODO LA CAMARERA, era bastante agradable y voluntariosa P.D. Quizá lo peor de todo es que ESTANDO EN TOLEDO pidas aceite para degustarlo con el pan y te traigan unas de esas tarrinitas de 5ml de aceite Borges. Al menos ofrecer una buena botella de una variedad de aceite toledano, aunque lo cobres! Lo siento, pero mal. Gracias. No obstante porque valoro el trabajo de...
