If you're looking for a taste of home (which we often are on holidays given that we are ex pats) I can confirm that this bar does a perfectly good full English breakfast including British style sausages, which isn't as common as you would think. However, the service is shockingly slow and staff in general look uninterested. We sat at a table outside with maybe two other tables occupied and we were waiting ages to be approached and then waiting another age for them to come with menus and then another age for them to wipe down our tables. (Maybe keep some menus, cutlery and cleaning materials outside? Save yourselves multiple trips?) Babs ordered a 2 sausage and 2 egg sandwich, she got a 2 bacon and 2 egg sandwich, when she informed them, they came back with 2 sausages and one egg. Wasn't that complicated an order, was it? When we ordered some cokes, they came in cans(odd in a bar?) and with glasses with no ice. On a separate occasion, Babs ordered a mixed fruit Kopperberg which was also brought with no ice. In all seriousness, who wants soft drinks or cider without ice in 35 degree heat!? Its not something you should have to ask for surely!? Rather than wait a lifetime for a waiter/waitress to return, I just went in to the bar and asked for the ice myself. When asking for the bill, that also took a long time and then they never came back to charge us. I ended up just going in to pay. Humourously bad service. Also be careful going here for major sports events unless you want to know what happens in advance of seeing it for yourself. Their coverage is about three minutes behind the sports bar next door and apparently getting them to put up the volume on the outdoor TV is a...
Read moreI visited this place twice, a few weeks apart, earlier this year, late March and early April at a guess. On both occassions the staff were rude, once to my wife, once to me. We just stopped in for a drink the first time - the table was covered in other peoples beer (but it was the only one free) so we sat down. My wife asked the waiter, very politely, to clean the table and he snarled at her. He was a surly git for the entire hour or so we stayed there. The second time I was working in the area and went to get lunch. They didn't have a number of basic items that were on the menu (like no bread rolls... at lunch time). The food wasn't good and the waiter (a different guy from the first time) was just plain rude. I have avoided it ever since, but I was at the Sabadell bank yesterday and Google thought I'd been here and asked me to write a review - I just gave 2 stars, without commentary - but ask the manager asked for an...
Read moreSorry, great in the evening but our experience during the day is that the service is very lacking. We were going to have breakfast but we waited so long for coffee & received it cold. Asked for hot milk & again waited & waited. When I visited the bar to get it I was dismissed aggressively & told "Go sit down, my colleague will deal with you" I told her we had already made our request with the other girl. I informed her that although we had ordered cafe muy caliente it arrived frio!! & only half full We paid & left. Been many times in the evening & have enjoyed it but have always had to go to the bar for attention during the day, even though, as on this occasion, there was only a couple of tables taken. Don't like to complain but Shamrock requested my review several times since that day. The staff seriously need to be trained on acceptable,...
