La Plaça Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Torroella de Montgrí

We often end up at this cafe in the main square. A strawberry slushie or iced coffee always great full to received after a long cycle. However, it is a bit of a tourist trap - and the treatment by the staff does reinforce this feeling. The food is nice enough, the service ok - there is just a lack of care. But it is easy and appealing with menus in several languages and the right sort of foods and drinks to satisfy the masses.

When we visited the waitress knocked my son's drink (forementioned strawberry slushie) onto the floor. Amazingly it landed right side up. The waitress picked it up, wiped the bottom of the glass and placed it back on the table. I felt we should have been given a new glass - as we were left feeling slightly uneasy that there could be glass in the drink - and some of it had jumped out of the top. I don't know. Great cafè to enjoy your daily coffee or a great range of teas. Lovely location, right in the centre of the square village, quiet and lovely place. Gets really busy on Mondays when it's market day and the cafè gets surrounded by the richness of the colorful vegegables and fruit. They also serve food, sandwiches, tasty salads with meat. Firstly, the food is not good its marketing .We had a salad they gave us 3 salad leaves literally with some white sauce. Do NOT order poke bowls. not good AND THE PASTA seems from the microwave.
